Sensoji Temple Asakusa Tokyo Japan:
I’ve been busy working on a few upcoming reviews for all of you (and shooting with my Hasselblad 503CW since the weather has been so fantastic here lately) but I’ve also been spending some time going through all my photos from my trip to Japan. So, while I’m finishing up some of those reviews, I thought I would share some photos from my visit to Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. [continue reading…]
Cherry Blossom Season in Tokyo Japan:
I didn’t plan it but I was lucky enough to be in Japan during the peak of cherry blossom season. So, I went to Kitanomaru Park in Chiyoda and what I thought was going to take one or two hours of my day, ended up being much longer. I’m a flower lover; actually I love growing orchids. My mom is into it, and being that I went to college in Upstate New York, there wasn’t much sign of life during the winter season :). The sky is literally gray from October to April although the snowboarding/skiing is quite good. The orchids added much needed life to my room. But I’ve never really been to a place where they outright grow so many cherry blossom trees. I heard about the cherry blossom trees in Washington DC in the spring time but never managed to get there during that season. So, when I saw the cherry blossom trees in Tokyo, I was quite amazed. A Walk Through Harajuku and Omotesando:
If you’re visiting Tokyo, you have to check out Harajuku. There’s just so much going on here. There’s kids dressed up in cosplay characters, punk musicians, and even anime characters although for some reason, I didn’t see that much when I went. However, if any of you have ever played Nintendo’s Mario Kart, I saw a bunch of young people in modified go-karts dressed up as characters from that game driving on the street as the massive crowds cheered them on. It was definitely fun to see that. [continue reading…]
Meiji Shrine Near Harajuku:
I arrived in Tokyo on Saturday evening, and all I did was pretty much walk around Shibuya, which was where my hotel was located. With the long plane ride and the lack of sleep, I pretty much went to bed early that night. However, I woke up very early the next morning and since it was such a nice day, I decided to go to Meiji Shrine near Harajuku. From where my hotel was located, it was literally only one stop away by train. [continue reading…]
The NY Auto Show 2015 With the Leica M 240:
While I’ve found driving in New York City a chore, I do love cars, and if I lived somewhere less congested, I would probably be driving a lot more. I missed the NY Auto Show last year but I managed to go to this year’s on Friday. However, I did go to the NY Auto Show two years ago, and you can see the photos from that time (Part1/Part2/Part3). Luckily it wasn’t so crowded this time, so I was able to comfortably check out some of the latest cars. I even went to Jeep Camp, where they have a mini obstacle set up for Jeeps to go through, which was quite fun. [continue reading…]
