Olympus OM-D E-M5 Video Created by Austin Lottimer:

My brother in-law has been going crazy over the Olympus OM-D E-M5.  He absolutely loves it.  He was nice enough to let me shoot quite a few photos with it the other day, and it is a great camera.  It’s really fun to use, and it has some great features.  He also bought the Panasonic 25mm f1.4 Summilux Aspherical in addition to the kit lens,  and that 50mm equivalent is awesome!  Is the OM-D better than the X-Pro1?  Well, from first impressions, I think they’re both very different cameras, and therefore, have very different strengths and weaknesses.  I can’t wait to write up a user review for the OM-D so stay tuned for that.

For now, check out this cool video my brother in-law sent me that was completely filmed with the OM-D.  It was created by Austin Lottimer.  The video has nothing to do with photography but I thought that it was cool to just see the video capability of the Olympus OM-D.  Take care and stay tune for some more stuff coming soon.  Thanks for stopping by!

Video of Pedro Ferreira on the Leica 50 APO-Summicron ASPH

Video About The New Leica 50 APO-Summicron ASPH:

I saw this cool video on the Leica Blog about photographer Pedro Ferreira and the Leica 50 APO-Summicron ASPH.  He uses his M9 in the studio, and I think that’s kind of cool.  I’ve been wanting to try out the studio setting with my M9 for quite some time.

I also have a confession to make: I kind of want the new 50 APO-Summicron ASPH :).  I want to see how Leica can possibly improve on the already perfect 50 Summicron.  Seriously, even when I bought my 50 Summilux ASPH, I refused to sell my 50 Summicron (you can check out my review of the 50 Summicron).  The 50 cron is really one of the greatest lenses out there.  I have an extremely high respect for it, especially since the 50 cron was the only lens I had when I was younger.  If Leica did improve on the older version (and I’m sure that they did), the APO-Summicron must be mind blowing.  But, if I was going to spend $7200 on a 50mm, I’d probably buy a used 50 Noctilux F1.0 or save a little to purchase the 50 Noctilux F0.95 instead of buying the new 50 APO-Summicron ASPH.  The Noctilux F0.95 can produce photos that are simply out of this world.

Leica M9-P Edition Hermes Limited Edition Video

Leica M9-P Edition Hermes Video:

I don’t normally look at the special edition Leica cameras much but I must say, I kind of wished I could afford a Leica M9-P Hermes Edition set.  Yeah I know, I know, 300 sets will be priced at $25,000, and 100 sets, which are named “Serie Limitee Jean-Louis Dumas”, will go for a whopping $50,000.  You can buy a decent car for that price.  Say what you want but the M9-P in the Edition Hermes sets looks slightly futuristic, which is kind of cool.  I wonder if the Leica M10 will have that same top plate?  I would have posted this earlier when the Leica M9-P Edition Hermes was first announced but I honestly didn’t even notice it until now.  I thought it was going to be a typical special edition Leica so I didn’t pay much attention to it at first.    I like it :).  Anyway, check out the Leica M9-P Edition Hermes video.  Below the video are some photos of the Leica M9-P Edition Hermes.  The video made me want one of these :).  I love the chrome lenses too!

Check out below for some photos of this set. [continue reading…]

Videos of The New Fuji X-Pro1:

I wanted to see a more hands-on view of the new Fuji X-Pro1 so I went on You Tube to see if I could find anything.  Man, Fuji definitely has some good marketing skills that’s for sure :).  I found a two part video from Fujifilm themselves.  If you want more info about the new Fuji X-Pro1…more than just looking at a photo or reading about this new camera, check out the videos below: [continue reading…]

Why The Leica M is so Unique

Here’s another video that I found from Kai at Digital Rev TV talking about the Leica M, and its place in the world of modern cameras.  I’ve seen a few of Kai’s videos, and he’s a pretty funny guy with a lot of photographic knowledge.
