75 Summilux Images:
I’ve been so busy processing images lately, I haven’t really even had much time to post anything big lately. I want to make it a point to post something new everyday so here are a few photos of my friend. The lighting in her apartment was perfect, and I couldn’t resist. She was trying to figure something out with her camera…one of the Olympus Pen cameras. These photos were taken with my Leica M9 and 75 Summilux, which I still have to bring back to Leica NJ for calibration.
I love the 75 Summilux, and looking back at some of the photos I took with it, I think I might actually prefer the images coming out of it over the 50 Summilux ASPH. If you follow my blog, you know that I can’t stop gushing over the 50 Summilux ASPH but with the 75 lux, you get a really nice glow to images. Photos look really smooth but your subject is always tack sharp. It has a little of that Leica old school charm. Check out my review of the 75 Summilux if you haven’t yet. You’ll see what I mean. Plus, you can get closer to you’re subject. The only thing that sucks about the 75 Summilux is that it’s huge. It pulls the whole camera down. But it is one of those Leica lenses every Leica guy (or girl) should try at least once, especially if you own an M9.
What else? I’ve been using the new Lightroom 4, and it’s been great (I used them for these photos). For those of you who have never used Lightroom before or have an older version, you can go to the Adobe site, and download a 30 day trial version. The price for Lightroom 4 is a lot cheaper than the previous version so I think it’s totally worth it. Hope you like these images, more to come soon :).
