A Little More 75 Summilux…:
The weather is warm, the sun is out, and everyone is playing outside. I’m still here in front of my computer processing a whole bunch of photos. But that’s ok with me I guess since I actually prefer the cold :). It gets so insanely crowded once spring comes to New York City but I guess you can’t blame anyone. It’s great walking around without a coat :). Here’s a photo of a New York City cab for you all :). It’s a simple photo but still one of my favorites. It was shot with my Leica M9 and 75 Summilux. This print came out great on Kodak’s metallic paper.
What else has been new? Well, besides processing what seems like an endless amount of photos, I’ve been patiently waiting for my Fuji X-Pro1. I am definitely excited for it but I wonder if getting the X-Pro1 was a good idea. I bought it because my girlfriend wants to learn more about photography, and she’s been using my X100 and my M9 a lot. I figured she could use the X-Pro1 because it’s a little more like the M system, and it’s also a bit more user friendly.
But I can’t help but wonder…I could’ve invested the money to buy myself a new Leica lens :). I love my 75 Summilux but I was thinking about the 90 Summarit. I want a little more reach, and it’s a pretty small lens. Also, the truth is…I’m a one system person (with a few exceptions), and I love the Leica M system (especially since Leica makes their old lenses compatible with the M9, such as, my 75 Summilux). I love new toys like the next guy but for me, it’s about getting familiar and intimate with one system and most of all…it’s about the photography :). Anyway, come back soon, I will have more stuff to post :). Take care.
