Olympus 9mm f8.0 Fisheye Body Cap Lens Review

Olympus 9mm f8.0 Fisheye Body Cap Lens Review:

Instead of a plain, boring body cap for your camera, wouldn’t it be cool to have something like a lens built into a body cap?  Well, Olympus have done just that, and added a nice twist to it: for $84, you can get a body cap that contains a 9mm f8.0 fisheye lens.  In 35mm terms, the 9mm f8.0 Fisheye Body Cap Lens is an 18mm equivalent that give its user a very unique perspective with its 140º angle of view.  Given how unique this lens is, and my fondness for fisheye lenses, I knew I had to give it a try. Hasselblad X1D-50c Medium Format Mirrorless Pre-Order

Hasselblad X1D-50c Medium Format Mirrorless Pre-Order :

I knew Hasselblad was coming out with a mirrorless camera but I am surprised by the price.  Normally, I get the next M whenever it comes out, and I’ve been waiting for the M11 but the price of the X1D-50C isn’t as insane as I thought it would be.  The price is actually close to the Leica SL and M systems.  Plus, the lenses are actually cheaper than a lot of the Leica lenses.  The Hasselblad X1D-50c might just replace my Leica M 240…I am extremely tempted.  It’s a 50mp medium format sensor….nuff said.  Plus, it’s got a lot of cool features like an EVF and 14 stop dynamic range.  I guess I will wait a bit and see.  On a side note, I’ve been tempted by the SL but unlike the SL, the Hasselblad actually has lenses that I want not just two zooms.  Yes, I know you can use the M lenses on it but it would be nice to have some lenses that are designed exclusively for the system.

Check out the new X1D-50c out for yourself as B&H Photo and Adorama have it up for pre-order already:

Panasonic Lumix GX85 First Impressions With Images

Panasonic Lumix GX85 First Impressions:

Right now, I have with me the Panasonic Lumix GX85, and it is one of the next cameras that I am reviewing.  It couldn’t arrive at a better time considering summer is just about to start.  With the huge list of features, picture quality, and overall size of the GX85, I would imagine that this would make a fantastic camera to bring on vacation or walk around with on these hot summer days.  My review will be coming soon.  I figured for now, I’d write up a first impressions with some images. Fuji XF 1.4x TC WR Teleconverter Review

Fuji XF 1.4x TC WR Teleconverter Review:

As of now, the lens with the longest range in the Fuji X Series is the XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6.  If you want something longer that is made by Fuji, you’ll either have to wait until they release something new or purchase the XF 1.4x TC WR Teleconverter.  The XF 100-400mm is equivalent to a 152mm-609mm in 35mm terms but with the 1.4x teleconverter, you can extend that range to a crazy 213mm-853mm equivalent.  Of course, along with the advantages of a teleconverter, there are disadvantages, and today, I’ll talk about both in great detail, so that you can decide if the XF 1.4x Teleconverter is right for you. Movie Extras NYC With the Fuji XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6

Movie Extras NYC With the Fuji XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6:

Wow, it is hot out today!  I just came back from a long walk around Liberty State Park in Jersey City.  I was over there to get some breakfast with someone but I did have my little D-Lux in my pocket to snap some photos.  I may post some at a later date but I had some photos left over from the awesome Fuji XF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens that I thought I’d post right now.  For those who are interested, I recently reviewed it, and you can find it here.  Anyway, in terms of these photos, I was walking around Wall Street, and they were filming a big budget movie.  This happens a lot in NYC, so it doesn’t normally faze anyone but this one was different.  They had a lot of extras dress up in very old attire.  They also had some very cool older cars.
