Fujifilm Instax SQUARE SQ10 Review:
Instant film is very popular, and with good reason; at least for me, it can be a nice change from the “perfection” of digital. With an instant film camera, you’re getting a tangible print with all the little imperfections that are often associated with this type of device. Fujifilm has been producing analog instant cameras for quite some time and recently, the SQ10 was released. The SQ10 is a bit different than other Instax cameras because not only does it print on square instant film, it’s what Fuji calls a hybrid because it’s essentially a digital and analog camera rolled into one giving you essentially the best of both worlds. Let’s take a closer look. [continue reading…]

Fuji X-T2 And Flashpoint Xplor 600 TTL in The Woods:
I haven’t posted in a while, so my apologies for that. I’ve actually been busy trying out the Flashpoint Xplor 600 TTL Battery Powered Monolights. As some of you know, these monolights are basically Godox AD600s. This is not a review, so don’t expect anything with painstaking detail here but I’ll mention that overall, these products are pretty awesome. You’re essentially getting a portable high powered strobe that is battery powered, which makes it very convenient for on-location shoots. No power cords or any generators here. [continue reading…]

New Fuji X Series Gear Announced:
Did any of you see the new Fuji X Series gear coming out? Like the new Fuji X-E3? I have to say, it looks pretty darn cool. I also like that they have a kit that includes the 23mm f2 lens. I think the body is a great match with that lens given that the X-E3 is rangefinder styled and compact. Also, there’s a new XF 80mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro lens coming out along with the GF 45mm f2.8 R WR lens for the GFX. You can pre-order these below:
Fuji X-E3
Fuji X-E3 with XF 23mm f2
Fuji X-E3 with XF 18-55mm
XF 80mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro
GF 45mm f2.8 R WR
I can’t wait to give the X-E3 a go. It would be interesting to see how this compares the the X-T20. The XF 80mm doesn’t sound bad either :). Thanks for stopping by!
Panasonic Leica Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f2.8-4 ASPH Review:
I really love using ultra wide angle lenses, so when I heard about the release of the Panasonic Leica Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f2.8-4 ASPH, I definitely wanted to give it a try. Having something with a focal range equivalent to 16-36mm can definitely come in handy. I’ve tried a few of the Panasonic Leica lenses for the micro four thirds system before, and overall, I’ve been very impressed with them. My favorite micro four thirds lens to this day is still the 42.5mm Nocticron. f1.2. So, I would not be lying if I told you that I had very high expectations for this 8-18mm Vario-Elmarit. Would it be any good? Is it overpriced? How well is it built? All these questions ran through my head. Luckily, I was able to get one on loan to review, and here are my thoughts on it. A Pic With My Leica SL Early in The Morning:
I hope all of you had a great weekend. It’s been hot and humid in NYC, so I’ve been doing a lot of my shooting in the mornings, and sometimes in the evenings. I’m not a fan of hot weather unless I’m at some tropical destination or a beach ;). Ever since I bought my Leica SL, I haven’t posted much from it, so here is a photo I took during one of these mornings out. [continue reading…]
