A Photo of Verrazano Bridge With The Fuji XF 14mm f2.8:
My apologies for the lack of posts lately. I hurt my back helping my friends move a row boat out of all things :). I’m back, and I have a bunch of stuff coming. I’ll post the Mitakon 35mm f0.95 review this week. I also have a new shoulder, and wrist strap from 4V design. These straps come all the way from Italy, and I must say, they are quite nice. Billingham has also sent me their new Rucksack 25 to review. This is good to because I’ve been thinking about getting a backpack to carry my gear for a long time now. It’s definitely easier on the back. I’m also currently testing the XF 14mm f2.8 R lens by Fujifilm. I reviewed most of the Fuji lenses already, and I can’t believe this one slipped by. Anyway, the shot in this post was actually taken with my X-T2 and 14mm. [continue reading…]
Foggy Night in Dumbo Brooklyn:
I caught up with my best friend on Saturday night, and after getting some food in Astoria, and catching up (I haven’t seen him in a while), we stopped by Dumbo in Brooklyn to see if we could get some photos. It was a very foggy evening, and I thought it would be really cool to capture. Since I knew I was going to stop by Dumbo, I brought along my Fuji X-T2, Zeiss Touit 12mm, and my tripod. I love using ultra wides with bridges. I love the dramatic effect. At Dumbo, you can get pretty close to both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge. [continue reading…]
Mitakon 35mm f0.95 vs. Fuji XF 35mm f1.4 Bokeh Comparison:
So, I’m sitting here writing up my Mitakon 35mm f0.95 Speedmaster Mark II review, and I’m thinking more about how it compares to the XF 35mm f1.4. The reason I’m picking on this lens in particular is because it’s about the same size as the Mitakon, and it sells for the same price. Plus, I own XF 35mm f1.4, so it’s hard not to compare it with the Mitakon when it’s just sitting in my bag :). I didn’t get the chance to do any real in-depth comparison between the two lenses but I did take a few sample shots with the two set at their maximum apertures for my own amusement. I thought I’d just share them here real quick. [continue reading…]
Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome With The Leica SL:
Living in New York City definitely has it’s great moments but like any other place, it can get a little old sometimes. So, seeing as the weather was really nice last weekend, I decided to take a short road trip to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. It’s in Upstate New York…in Dutchess County. This time around, I brought my Leica SL with me, which I’ve been dying to use for quite a while. I’ve just been so busy these past couple of months that I haven’t had much time to take it out. [continue reading…]
Mitakon 35mm f0.95 Mark II First Impressions:
My review is coming up, so I’m going to keep this a little shorter. The Mitakon 35mm f0.95 Speedmaster Mark II is by far one of the coolest lenses to get for the Fuji X Series system. Yes, it’s a lens that produces fantastic bokeh but there’s so much more to it than that. [continue reading…]
