Hi everyone! These are just some quick examples I took while I was visiting my parents the other day. We had a snowstorm in New York City recently, which was no where near as brutal as weather reports suggested but it still left a decent amount of snow. My friend from Hong Kong came here to visit me this week, and the Fuji X-T20 and XF 50mm f2 R WR lens have proven to be a great combo to carry along while walking around New York City. Hey everyone! This is just a quick post to mention that I received the Fuji X-T20, and XF 50mm f2 R WR lens to review, and I am definitely excited. I was a huge fan of the X-T10. I love the fact that it had basically all the key essentials that made the X-T1 such a great camera but packaged in an ultra compact body. One of my favorite setups to this day is still the X-T10 and XF 27mm f2.8 combo. The combo has such incredible capabilities but at the same time, it’s almost pocket size! When Fuji introduced the X Series, they primarily concentrated on producing prime lenses. They later started to introduce some decent zooms but Fuji really wanted to attract an even broader range of photographers, especially users of full frame DSLRs and pros, which meant they needed to produce professional grade zoom lenses. What do I mean by professional grade zooms? I mean high grade glass, fixed apertures, and traditional zoom focal length ranges that pros and DSLR users are accustomed too. For instance, there are many full frame DSLR users who like to use a 70-200mm f2.8, so Fuji introduced the 50-140mm f2.8, which is a 76mm to 213mm equivalent lens (my review of this lens here). Another lens that many full frame DSLR users are accustomed to is a 24-70mm f2.8 because of its overall versatility. When the Fuji X Series started, it was mainly aimed at rangefinder enthusiasts. Even the focal lengths were more in line with what rangefinder aficionados traditionally used. But overtime, the X Series expanded, and it started to attract a broader range of users. Of course, this meant that Fuji needed a wider selection of lenses to further entice them. One of these lenses that they created was the XF 50-140mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR lens. With an equivalent range of 76mm to 213mm, and a fixed f2.8 aperture, this lens serves as a traditional zoom that many DSLR users have grown accustomed to, giving them even more of a reason to explore the X Series, and give it a try.
