Love hate relationship with Fujifilm X-E1:
Hello, I am a new owner of Fuji X-E1. I am also a happy owner of Fuji X10, the little brother of X-E1. So, I am here to share my experience along my transition period from the little brother, to his elder sister (since people call is sexy one right, let’s make it a ‘her’ 🙂 ) But first of all, I am not a pro-user hence all this is just an experience of a normal person who is interested in capturing photo. So to make thing clearer, I would compare both of them. So let it how the sexy one blend in…A lot photo shown are SOOC, enjoy :). [continue reading…]

Hands On With The New Zeiss Touit Lenses!:
Hey everyone! On Tuesday, I got the chance to go to the Zeiss Touit press event here in NY, and it was great. Bob from Bergen County Camera hooked me up with an invite, and I actually got my hands on the new Touit lenses for the Fuji X Mount (they had the Sony versions as well). I’ve been looking forward to trying out these new lenses for quite some time, and for the brief time that I was using them, I have to say that they do not disappoint! Again, this is more of a preview, and first hands on experience rather than a review, since I only had the lenses for the afternoon. But I will definitely be getting them for future reviews. Here’s what I think of them so far. [continue reading…]

X-E1 vs. OM-D E-M5 Part 2: Fuji XF 35mm F1.4 vs. Panasonic 25mm F1.4:
Welcome to part 2 of my Fuji X-E1 vs. Olympus OM-D E-M5 comparison. For those who did not read part 1, and want to start there, you can check it out. In part 1, I compare the two camera bodies, whereas in this part, I discuss two of the most popular lenses for these two camera bodies: The Fuji XF 35mm F1.4 R lens, and the Panasonic 25mm F1.4 Summilux.
So just to recap, I had a chance to borrow the OM-D along with a choice of lenses, and I thought to myself, I definitely need to get my hands on that Panasonic 25mm. First off, I’m a 50mm kind of guy, and second, it’s one of the lenses I always keep hearing about. Plus, wouldn’t it be cool to compare the Panny with the XF 35mm? Both are exceptionally sharp, they each have gobs of character, and who doesn’t love a fast aperture lens?
So, I ran a few tests to see what I could come up with. Obviously, whether one lens is sharper than another doesn’t really matter because it’s not like you could put the Panny onto your X-E1. Plus, both these are top tier lenses. So, what I did was spend less time on build quality, image quality etc. because we all know already that these two lenses are awesome, and spent more time on how these two lenses compared with each other in terms of their ability to create a very shallow depth of field. This comparison is just for fun, so let’s see what we got. [continue reading…]

Fuji X-E1 Vs. Olympus OM-D E-M5 Part 1:
The Fuji X-Pro1 has always been compared to the Olympus OM-D with good reason: Along with different cameras from other manufacturers, such as, Sony, they’re at the top of the mirrorless class. However, the problem with the X-Pro1 was that it was always priced way to high to compete fairly with the OM-D. To remedy this, Fuji created a camera with similar traits as the X-Pro1 but at a price that was more competitive with the OM-D: enter the Fuji X-E1. [continue reading…]

Fuji XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R Lens Vs. Fuji XF 18mm F2.0 R Lens:
The new Fuji XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R lens is a great lens, and for the most part, it’s been well received. It performs well optically, it’s easy to use, it’s small, and it focuses pretty quick. With the release of this new zoom, I’m pretty sure many of you are wondering if you even need the Fuji primes. Well, maybe I wouldn’t go that far since I love primes :). But who knows, maybe you’re starting out, and you want to get the most out of your money or if you’re like me, you just want to lighten your bag a bit. [continue reading…]
