Images From The Canon EOS M5 And EF 50mm f1.2L USM:
Happy New Year everyone! I imagine some of you had a very late night ;). I sure did, so I’m going to keep today’s post short and sweet. Tomorrow, I’ll be posting my Billingham S4 review for those who are interested. Now, I’ll be talking about a really cool setup that I’ve been using for the last couple of weeks in addition to the 50mm Summilux-SL that I’m reviewing. I’ve been shooting with the Canon EOS M5, and it’s actually a really cool camera. There’s a lot to love about it, and some things I think Canon should work on but overall, I can definitely see it as a strong competitor to cameras such as ones in the Fuji X-Series. I have a bunch of lenses on loan with it but one in particular has really been so much fun to use with the EOS M5: the Canon EF 50mm f1.2L USM Lens. [continue reading…]

Sony RX100 V Digital Compact Camera Review:
The Sony RX100 series has always been popular in the high end compact camera world because it’s pretty much perfect in its class to a lot of photographers. It has tons of useful features, the image quality is excellent, and all of this is stuffed into a body that is compact enough to fit in one’s pocket. To top it off, Sony currently sells previous versions of the RX100 along with the latest version, so this makes the RX100 series available to a broader range of customers. So, with a camera this good, it’s hard to imagine Sony actually making a worthy upgrade but apparently they have with the new RX100 V, which is what I’m reviewing today. [continue reading…]

Billingham S3 Camera Bag Review:
There are a lot of manufacturers making great camera bags these days. Billingham is one of these fine manufacturers, and they have been making bags from England for what feels like forever to me. In terms of price, they are definitely up at the higher end of the spectrum but in exchange, they offer bags that are extremely well-manufactured from some of the best raw materials out there. They currently released a new line of bags called the S series, and I’ve alreadly reviewed the smaller version the S2, which can be found here. Today, I will be talking about the middle one, the Billingham S3. [continue reading…]

Sony RX100 V First Impressions:
High end point and shoot cameras have always appealed to me because I love the idea of having a camera with huge capabilities that is also small enough to fit in a pocket. These cameras can all shoot raw, have excellent lenses, large sensors (at least by point and shoot standards), and a host of other features that will help satisfy the photographer in me for when I can’t bring my larger camera systems. At the same time, they also have full auto modes, so if I’m lazy or I’m out with friends, I can still get great images without having to go into full photographer mode. A high end point and shoot series made by Sony, called the RX100 series, has been around for quite some time. Recently, the company introduced the new RX100 V, which promises to be even better than its predecessors. It’s actually been something I’ve been shooting with for a while now, and I thought I’d share with all of you my initial impressions of it. [continue reading…]
