iClever 6-Port 50W 10A Fast USB Desktop Charger Review:
Recently, I went to Japan, and while I double checked and tripled check to make sure I brought everything that I would need to photograph such an amazing place, there was one thing that I didn’t even think about: I didn’t take into account how many outlets my hotel room would have for me to charge my electronic devices. The reality is that these days, we live in an age where we are dependent on electricity to power a lot of our equipment. For instance, while my Leica M 240 has a lot of manual features, the bottom line is it won’t work without a charged battery. Neither will my phone. Nowadays, smart phones have so many complex features that they need even larger batteries than ever before. When I went to Japan, I went with a couple of people, so we actually had to take turns charging our electronics because we simply ran out of outlets. This is why I should’ve brought something like this iClever 6-Port 50W 10A Fast USB Desktop Charger with me on my trip. This device was kindly sent to me by Hisgadget Inc for review purposes, and after a few weeks of testing, here is what I think of it. [continue reading…]
Intocircuit 2nd Gen Power Castle Series 15000mAh Review:
For those of you who are in the market for a new portable power bank to charge your devices like a smart phone or a tablet, it can be quite difficult to make a decision on which one to buy because there are so many choices out there these days. For instance, once you figured out the battery capacity that you want, you still have to decide which manufacturer that you would like to buy from since there are so many of them. Keep in mind that not all are equal. You still want a product that is both reliable and decently priced. About a month ago, I received an email from Hisgadget Inc. asking me if I would be interested in reviewing one of their portable battery chargers. Like a lot of people I’ve become reliant on a lot of my electronics. Sometimes it’s unfortunate but that’s the reality these days. Up until now, I’ve been using a smaller portable battery charger but recently, I’ve been needing something with more capacity, especially since some of my newer devices have larger batteries, so seeing as Hisgadget was going to send me something with 15,000 mAh, I jumped at the chance to review it. The one that I was sent is the Intocircuit 2nd Gen Power Castle 15000mAh. [continue reading…]
Sailor Strap The Lieutenant Review:
People like to personalize their cameras and one great way of doing this is simply by swapping out the OEM camera strap for an aftermarket version. Unfortunately, sometimes it can cost a lot to get a decent one. Well, a new camera strap manufacturer has released straps that promise both handcrafted workmanship, and a distinct look that separates them from the crowd. That is no small feat, especially since there is a lot of competition in the camera strap world these days but on top of this, this manufacturer is also selling these straps for a very reasonable price. How reasonable? Well, how’s $45 for the strap in this review sound to you? Yes, $45. This new company, located in Warsaw Poland, is called Sailor Strap, and they recently were kind enough to send me a sample of one of their products for me to review. The one I chose is the Lieutenant strap. [continue reading…]
Billingham F-Stop 1.4 Review:
The Hadley Pro is one of Billingham’s most popular bags not only because it’s built well and offers excellent protection for photographic equipment, its size is also just about perfect for a broad range of gear. It’s a great bag for a Leica M system, a mirrorless system, a DSLR system, and even medium format gear all while still being compact enough that it’s not a struggle to carry around all day. But while the Hadley Pro is a very versatile bag, it’s still not for everyone. The size of the bag and what it can carry does appeal to a broad audience but some may want something that is configured a little differently. For those who want another bag with similar traits, Billingham has introduced an alternative: the Billingham F-Stop 1.4. [continue reading…]
Expert Shield Screen Protectors Customer Service:
This is just a short post about my experience with Expert Shield’s great customer service:
A couple of years ago, Expert Shield contacted me and asked if I wanted to to review their product (you can check out my review). I took them up on their offer, and they were kind enough to send me a few screen protectors for my cameras and even my iPhone. Overall, I was completely happy with their product; it’s reasonably priced, it works great, it’s clear, and it really does protect the screen. So when I purchased my new iPhone 6 Plus a couple of months ago, I bought an Expert Shield screen protector for it (I really do use a lot of the products I recommend 🙂 ) because my numerous fishing trips definitely took a toll on my old phone’s screen.
