Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I could tell you that I’ve been busy, and taking a bunch of photo assignments but I’ve just been a little lazy this month :). January does that to me for some reason…I think it has to do with the post Christmas and New Years time…who knows. But I will definitely be kicking off the New Year with a whole bunch of stuff, such as a new reviews, and of course, more photos…Speaking of photos, I’ve been really getting into landscape (well, cityscape) photography lately. I even started reading up on HDR photography, which was something I wasn’t too interested in before. Mirrorless Cameras:
Are mirrorless cameras the wave of the future? It sure seems like it sometimes. This is just a random post on a topic I was thinking about while I was surfing the web. This is in no way an attack on anyone who uses anything else besides mirrorless cameras, it’s just a random topic on a photo blog :). Everywhere I look, all I hear about are new mirrorless cameras that have come out or are coming out. Manufacturers such as Sony, Fuji, Leica, Pentax, Olympus, Panasonic, and now even Nikon (when are you jumping on the bandwagon Canon?) are coming out with some pretty cool mirrorless cameras nowadays each with their own twist on what a mirrorless camera should entail. Subcompact Cameras Like The D-Lux 5:
Wow, have any of you seen what a really good subcompact/point and shoot camera can do nowadays? I know a lot of subcompact cameras (point and shoot) like the Leica D-Lux 5, the Panasonic LX5, and the Olympus XZ-1 can shoot in RAW but I guess after I bought my M9, it kind a made me forget that even cameras in the point and shoot category can produce beautiful images. The Billingham Hadley insert:
My Billingham Hadley is close to 20 years old, and it’s still running strong. But a few years ago, the insert started to fall apart. For some reason, all the stuffing in the insert just disappeared or disintegrated. Serious…no holes or anything. It was like throwing your lenses in a big pouch all together. [continue reading…]
