Sirui P-204SR 4 Section Monopod Review:
If you need some stability while shooting but don’t necessarily have the time or the ability to set up a tripod, a good alternative is a monopod, which leads me to what I’m reviewing today: the Sirui P-204SR. This is actually the first time I’ve ever reviewed a monopod, and this particular one has been out for a while now but I recently had the pleasure of trying it out, and it’s so cool that I thought I’d write up a review for it. Let’s take a closer look. [continue reading…]
Backpack vs Shoulder Bag for Camera Gear: Which is Best For You?:
I’ve been a shoulder bag guy for years, and years. Even in high school when JanSports were the cool backpack to have, I had a shoulder bag. Well, that’s not entirely true; I had a JanSport too but later on, I did switch to a shoulder bag :). Getting back on topic, I thought I’d never switch to a backpack for my camera gear but over the past year, I found myself carrying around more gear for not only my model shoots but also for review purposes. My back started paying for it, so I started looking into alternatives, and I remember how much I enjoyed the Rucksack 25 that I reviewed a while back thanks to Billingham (review here). Well, I am finally an owner of one, and I’m proud to say that it is my very first backpack ever for camera gear :). Let’s take a closer look at how the two compare. [continue reading…]

Voigtlander Nokton 75mm f1.5 Aspherical Lens First Impressions:
There are plenty of great portrait lenses out there that are M mount ranging from ultra expensive lenses like the Noctilux-M 75mm f1.25 ASPH to even lenses costing just a couple of hundred dollars. It can make it pretty hard to choose sometimes, if you think about it. Now, Voigtlander has added another one to the mix: the Nokton 75mm f1.5 Aspherical, and I have to say, this has been so far a pretty amazing lens. I was able to get one in to review, and here’s my first impressions of it. [continue reading…]

Billingham Hadley Pro 2020 Camera Bag Review:
The Hadley Pro has been around for ages, and has been Billingham’s best selling bag ever for good reason. It’s well-made, looks great, comfortable and is perfectly sized for a variety of photographic gear from compact mirrorless cameras to even larger DSLR systems. To top it off, the bag lasts forever, and offers superior protection for your gear. But like everything else, things change. Photography, for instance, has changed quite a bit even in the last ten years. While the Hadley Pro is still doing great, it also made sense for Billingham to further improve on it with the release of the new Hadley Pro 2020. It’s been years since they made any major changes, right? But with a bag like this where there’s a big following, and people generally like it the way that it is, changes can sometimes be unwanted. So, the question is are these improvements truly beneficial or are they a detriment to the overall design that has made this Billingham bag so popular over the years? Well, thanks to Billingham, I was able to get the Hadley Pro 2020 in to review, and here’s what I think. [continue reading…]

Billingham Delta Pocket Review:
Any of the larger bags from Billingham like say the 7 Series bags can carry a ton of gear. For instance, the bag I use the most these days is my Billingham 307. I do anywhere from one to three shoots per week, and this is what I use to carry my Leica SL, SL lenses, M lenses, chargers, wireless transmitters, batteries, and other miscellaneous stuff. I use it mainly to carry my stuff from home to my studio, and then maybe switch to a smaller bag (which I leave in my studio), if I am doing some street fashion on a particular shoot. Even with the amount of gear this bag carries, there are still times when I’ve needed just a little more space. Luckily, Billingham does offer a solution other than me carrying a larger bag or multiple ones at once: the Delta Pocket. The Delta Pocket is basically an end pocket that you can attach to the side of your compatible bag to basically add more storage space. Thanks to Billingham, I was able to get one in to review, and here’s what I think of it. [continue reading…]
