Weekly Portrait Set: Leica SL Monochrome Images on a Rooftop:

This week’s portrait set is an older one of Kristina (Instagram) that I took with the Leica SL.  It’s an older set because of self-isolation etc. from the corona virus.  I probably won’t be able to go out and shoot with someone for quite a while, which is also why I haven’t been consistent with my weekly portrait set posts.  I did do plenty of shoots before all of this but nearly all of them were boudoir shoots not fashion or portrait.  If you want to see some of my boudoir work, you can check out my Instagram page, which I regularly update.  But back to this shoot, Kristina came over for a boudoir and fashion style shoot, and we ended up with a bunch of different shots.  As you can see, this set was taken on my rooftop, which I currently miss so much right now (I live in Brooklyn, and my studio space is in Manhattan). Leica SL2 And 75mm Summilux Indoor Shooting: Mono Flora:

Like most of you, I’ve been practicing social distancing, and self-isolating/quarantine measures because of the corona virus pandemic.  Shooting, especially doing model shoots have come to a complete halt for me.  I’ve been keeping myself busy with writing some reviews that will be coming out shortly.  I’ve been catching up on a lot of editing (which you can see on my Instagram), and even experimenting a bit by trying new editing techniques.  I’ve also been catching up on some of my Netflix, and Amazon Prime streaming when I get the chance ;).  Still, I love photography, and miss shooting quite a bit.  So, I was trying to find things to photograph that didn’t require me to go out much, and I remember this one photo I took a long time ago when I still had my Leica M9.  It was a bunch of flowers, and I shot it with my 75mm Summilux.  I thought I’d try something like that again. Sigma 40mm f1.4 DG HSM Art Lens Review L Mount:

I’ve been a huge fan of Sigma products ever since I reviewed the SD Quattro a while back.  Yes, the SD Quattro had its quirks, and it’s definitely not for everyone but the image quality is just fantastic.  The Sigma lens that I used during that review was just as good.  So, I’m so glad Sigma products are available for L mount, since as some of you know, I’m was an SL, and now an SL2 user.  I’ve already reviewed a few of the L mount Sigma lenses (which can be found in my Leica section), and recently, I was able to get my hands on another one: the Sigma 40mm f1.4 DG HSM Art.  Let’s take a closer look. Weekly Portrait Set: Rooftop Shots on a Cloudy Day With The Leica SL:

This week’s portrait set is from a while back actually.  They were taken on a cloudy day.  I have tons of files, and stuff was beginning to get disorganized, so I decided to re-organizing everything.  While doing it, I came across these, which I never posted before.  The person in these photos is Tiffany (Instagram). Panasonic Lumix S Pro 16-35mm f4 L Mount First Impressions

Panasonic Lumix S Pro 16-35mm f4 L Mount First Impressions:

Since switching to portrait and boudoir, my ultra wides have been pretty much collecting dust these days.  I’ll occasionally use them for a specific project but otherwise, I’m mostly shooting with either a 50mm or 90mm these days.  So for me, it’s hard to justify spending $6k+ on say the Leica 16-35mm f3.5-4.5 ASPH for my SL2.  Luckily, the L Mount Alliance has given us L mount users a lot of different alternatives.  For instance, there’s the excellent Sigma 14-24mm f2.8 which I reviewed a while back (review here).  There’s also the Panasonic Lumix S Pro 16-35mm f4, which is what I’m going to talk about today.
