Today is a good day :). I just received the Fuji XF 23mm F1.4 R lens from Fedex, and here are a few initial shots I took after a walk around my neighborhood. Many of you know my preferred focal length is the 50mm, which is why I love the XF 35mm so much. Hey everyone! I’m back from my vacation to Walt Disney World, and instead of just showing you a bunch of photos, I’m kind of in the mood to write up something different. I want to write a post about using the Fuji X-E1 through a vacationer’s perspective because of some of the reactions I got with the camera :). I didn’t get any bad reactions; on the contrary, I got very curious and positive reactions. For instance, one of the photographers at Disney thought I had a first generation digital camera but was actually pleasantly surprised when she discovered it was a modern digital camera. She really appreciated the analog controls of the Fuji. Another Disney photographer commented that the X-E1 reminded her of her old film SLR lol. Then, there was another person who was working there (she used my X-E1 to take a family photo for us) who liked it so much, she wrote down the model and brand, so she could order one. Hello guys. My name is Fabian Rauber, I am 22 years old, from Austria, and a happy owner of a Leica MP with some lenses. Now I am going to tell you how I ended up with a Leica, I will try to keep it short:
My first camera was a point and shoot (a Panasonic DMC TZ-5), and I bought it mainly because it has 10x optical zoom and I wanted my own camera. I still have it, but now my mum shoots with it. Back then I knew nothing about photography, I had no idea about film speed, aperture and focal length.
One day I looked a little closer at my Panasonic and noticed it had a Leica DC-Vario Elmar lens. Hm? Leica isn‘t that a camera manufacturer? So I checked out their website and got hooked as soon as I saw one of their M‘s. I knew I had to own one of these. So I took photography more serious and learned about aperture, bokeh and so on. I also picked up my dad‘s old Minolta X300 and shot a few rolls of film. After really enjoying the analog way of shooting, I ordered a Leica MP a la carte last year in August. A lot of people love to shoot with fast lenses on their Leica cameras these days, and sometimes those lenses can be hard to focus, especially when you’re using longer focal lengths. The Fuji X Series mirrorless system has expanded quite a bit in the last year. I remember when the X-Pro1 was first released, some thought there just weren’t enough lens choices. Now, there are plenty of lenses to choose from along with many different accessories to customize these cameras to our liking. Along with new lens and accessory choices, there are also more camera bodies to choose from.
