The B+W Filter Clear With Multi-Resistant Coating (007M):
There are two sides to using filters that only serve as protection for your front element. One side says that after spending so much money on good glass, you obviously want to protect it. The other side says that after spending so much money on good glass, why would you want to degrade it by putting something in front of it? I am a strong believer of the former while someone like my dad is a strong believer of the latter. While I do understand, and believe in my dad’s point of view, I just don’t want anything to happen to my lenses. I’m a perfectionist, and even if it doesn’t effect image quality, I don’t want a little nick or scratch on the front element of my $4000+ 50 Summilux ASPH. So is there a compromise? Well, sort of…you can still purchase a filter but get something that’s high quality so degradation is at its minimum. I did just that, and I ended up purchasing the B+W filter clear with Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) (007M) for my Fuji X-Pro1 lenses. [continue reading…]

The Fuji X10 Review:
I always had a good appreciation, and respect for Fuji products, especially back in the film days with their wonderful Velvia, Provia, and Reala films. When photography went digital, I must admit, all I ever heard about were the typical big companies like Nikon and Canon. Then Fuji announced their X100, and things completely changed. Here was a camera that was solidly built, produced phenomenal image quality, and offered rangefinder-like usability all for almost half the price of the Leica X1. Naturally, the Fuji X100 was a huge hit, and I believe that it really help put Fuji on the map again. In fact, it’s still a huge success even with the release of the Fuji X-Pro1 and it’s newly released competitor, the Leica X2. Instead of letting the success of the X100 dwindle, Fuji decided to invest in the X Series cameras, and announced the Fuji X10 in September. [continue reading…]

Black Label Bag Leather Wrist Strap:
I bet that there are plenty of you out there who don’t use a neck strap because you prefer to carry around your camera with one hand. It’s less conspicuous, and your camera is always ready to go. I’m definitely one who prefers to carry my camera like that, and that’s why I love the Leica M neck strap so much. It’s a strong strap that is cheap, and it is easy to loop around my wrist. For those who don’t want to loop their long neck strap around their wrist, you can get wrist straps from several companies, such as, Artisan & Artist, Gordy’s, and even Luigi. Today I have a wrist strap for you all to check out but it’s not made by any of those manufacturers that I’ve just mentioned. I have for you all today a Black Label Bag leather wrist strap. Seeing as I don’t see much about this strap on the web, I thought that I would share with you all what I think of it. [continue reading…]

I’ve been very busy these past few days as I am packing for my trip. As always, I’m online looking for any last minute accessories or deals to buy like every time that I go away, and I ran into the Manfrotto MTT2-P02 Table Top Tripod with Ball Head. It looked pretty cool, and the price was right, so I decided to order it. I am bringing my main tripod with me but I figured that this little Table Top Tripod from Manfrotto would great to just throw in my bag for the times when I don’t want to bring my big tripod. Billingham Hadley Small Review:
The Billingham Hadley collection of bags are some of the most successful bags in the Billingham catalogue. They are rightfully so because the combination of size, protection, durability, and dependibility of these bags are perfect for most photographers’ needs. I’ve had my original Hadley for well over 15 years, and it has not let me down once. It has been crushed, been bumped around countless times, been through numerous rain storms, and to this day, it still protects my precious Leica equipment just as well as it did when I first purchased it. But what happens if you want a Billingham Hadley but it’s just too big for your photographic needs? Well, Billingham has taken care of that need with their Billingham Hadley Small.
