The Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Lens For The Fuji X-Pro1:
After a few weeks of using my Fuji X-Pro1, I must confess that this camera has really got a hold of me :). Yes, the X-Pro1 does have it’s drawbacks but what camera doesn’t? I’m just loving what I get out of this system. The X-Pro1 operates very similar to a rangefinder, and the photographs that it produces are just awesome. No great camera system will be complete without equally great lenses, and Fuji did not disappoint witht the XF 18mm F2.0 R lens and XF 35mm F1.4 R lens. Now, there is even more to love with the release of the XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro lens for the X-Pro1 system. But one wonders (at least I do 🙂 )…Was the 60mm macro worth the wait? How will the 60mm perform on the X-Pro1? Can I live without the 60mm if I already have the XF 35mm? Please read on to find out! [continue reading…]

Happy Mother’s Day: Shots With The X-Pro1 And XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro
For all you mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day! Here are a bunch of photos from the flowers my sister bought for my mom all shot with the Fuji X-Pro1 and the fantastic XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro lens. This new lens for the X-Pro1 is great but there are a few quirks. I know I promised you all a review, and I’m very sorry I haven’t delivered yet but I promise that it’s coming. Bergen County Camera has been nice enough to lend me some photographic gear to try out, and review so I’ve been very busy! The weather has also been a little dreary. [continue reading…]

Fuji X-Pro1 Hand Grip HG-XPro1:
Hey everyone. I hope all of you had an excellent weekend. It has been raining here in New York City for quite some time now. I have been very busy photographing with some new toys, and while my review of the XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro lens is not here just yet, I do have a mini review for all of you here today. I was at Bergen County Camera the other day, and my dealer gave me the Fuji X-Pro1 hand grip (officially called the Hand Grip HG-XPro1) to try out. For all of you who are not quite comfortable with the feel and handling of the Fuji X-Pro1, you might want to give this a try. [continue reading…]

First Shots With The XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Lens And The Fuji X-Pro1:
Hey, everyone, I had the pleasure of using my new XF 60mm F2.4 R macro lens for the Fuji X-Pro1, and I must say, this could be my favorite lens for the X-Pro1 system. Well, maybe that’s a little premature. I still have to shoot with it more, and the XF 35mm F1.4 R lens is a masterpiece. But so far, the 60mm is a real joy to use. I will be reviewing it in the near future but just so you all know, this lens is very sharp. It’s also built a bit better than the 35mm and 18mm. [continue reading…]

ND Filters on The Fuji X-Pro1 to Shoot Wide Open in Broad Daylight:
I’ve been getting some emails asking for more info on ND filters, specifically for the Fuji X-Pro1, so I decided to make a post of it. Just to recap from my post about ND filters with Fuji X-Pro1, the whole reason for why I need an ND filter is because I want to be able to shoot at a wide aperture in broad daylight. Shooting at a wide aperture allows me to create an image with a shallow depth of field. Shooting like this lets me isolate the subject in the photograph, and helping me create beautiful bokeh.
