Gepe Card Safe Extreme Cases: Built Tough And Built to Last

Back when film was the main medium for photography, I used Gepe slide mounts for my medium format slides all the time.  The slide mounts  were extremely well constructed, and they presented my work behind their Anti-Newton glass  in a very professional manner.

Nowadays, I shoot mainly digital with the wonderful Leica M9 (which I reviewed recently) so I don’t really need those slide mounts anymore.  But I realized that I was steadily obtaining more and more memory cards with no place to put them, and always constantly misplacing them.  So I looked online, and was actually glad to see that Gepe was still in business, and now making cases for memory cards. Leica M9 Review: 19 Months With This Beautiful Rangefinder

When I was twelve, I saved up my allowance to buy my first camera, but then I was presented with a unique opportunity: my great uncle had passed leaving a stash of Leicas for my dad, who was a Leica fanatic himself.  My dad took an M3 from this stash, had it CLA’d, and told me to try it out before I spent my money on something else.  I thought he was crazy…  I never understood my dad’s fascination with Leicas, and here I was presented with not just a Leica, but a Leica with no electronics to assist me.  Well, I tried the M3, and it quickly became my constant companion for many years.
