Billingham Hadley Small Review : Great Hadley Features in a Small Size

Billingham Hadley Small Review:

The Billingham Hadley collection of bags are some of the most successful bags in the Billingham catalogue.  They are rightfully so because the combination of size, protection, durability, and dependibility of these bags are perfect for most photographers’ needs.  I’ve had my original Hadley for well over 15 years, and it has not let me down once.  It has been crushed, been bumped around countless times, been through numerous rain storms, and to this day, it still protects my precious Leica equipment just as well as it did when I first purchased it.  But what happens if you want a Billingham Hadley but it’s just too big for your photographic needs?  Well, Billingham has taken care of that need with their Billingham Hadley Small. Leica M9-P Edition Hermes Limited Edition Video

Leica M9-P Edition Hermes Video:

I don’t normally look at the special edition Leica cameras much but I must say, I kind of wished I could afford a Leica M9-P Hermes Edition set.  Yeah I know, I know, 300 sets will be priced at $25,000, and 100 sets, which are named “Serie Limitee Jean-Louis Dumas”, will go for a whopping $50,000.  You can buy a decent car for that price.  Say what you want but the M9-P in the Edition Hermes sets looks slightly futuristic, which is kind of cool.  I wonder if the Leica M10 will have that same top plate?  I would have posted this earlier when the Leica M9-P Edition Hermes was first announced but I honestly didn’t even notice it until now.  I thought it was going to be a typical special edition Leica so I didn’t pay much attention to it at first.    I like it :).  Anyway, check out the Leica M9-P Edition Hermes video.  Below the video are some photos of the Leica M9-P Edition Hermes.  The video made me want one of these :).  I love the chrome lenses too!

Check out below for some photos of this set. [continue reading…]

The Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Lens Review For The Fuji X-Pro1

The Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Lens For The Fuji X-Pro1:

After a few weeks of using my Fuji X-Pro1, I must confess that this camera has really got a hold of me :).  Yes, the X-Pro1 does have it’s drawbacks but what camera doesn’t?  I’m just loving what I get out of this system.  The X-Pro1 operates very similar to a rangefinder, and the photographs that it produces are just awesome.  No great camera system will be complete without equally great lenses, and Fuji did not disappoint witht the XF 18mm F2.0 R lens and XF 35mm F1.4 R lens.  Now, there is even more to love with the release of the XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro lens for the X-Pro1 system.  But one wonders (at least I do 🙂 )…Was the 60mm macro worth the wait?  How will the 60mm perform on the X-Pro1?  Can I live without the 60mm if I already have the XF 35mm?  Please read on to find out! Fuji X100 Wide Angle Adapter WCL-X100 Announced

Fuji X100 Wide Angle Adapter WCL-X100

Hey everyone, did you hear about the new wide angle adapter for the Fuji X100?  It’s called the WCL-X100.  The adapter/lens basically attaches on to the lens of you camera, and multiplies the focal length by 0.8x, converting it from a 23mm to a 19mm.  Basically, you end up with a 28mm lens.  While this is not dramatically wider than the already capable 35mm equivalent, it’s still kind of cool.  This is like the time someone made a homemade macro adapter for his Leica X1, which I always thought was cool :).  It makes me think twice on whether or not I should sell my X100 :).  It’s also great to know that Fuji still takes care of their X100 users even though all the hype is on their X-Pro1 now.  Check out what Fuji says: [continue reading…]
