Leica M9 Sensor Crack Fixed: Thank You Leica NJ

Cracked Sensor in My Leica M9 Fixed And Back From Leica NJ:

As some of you may know, my sensor on my Leica M9 cracked a little while ago.  If you’re new to my blog, you can check out the two posts HERE and HERE.  To give you a quick recap, I brought it to my local dealer (Bergen County Camera), and Bob said he would take care of it.  He was nice enough to bring it over to Leica NJ for me.  Originally, Leica NJ told him that I might not even see my My till June because sensors were backordered. My Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Lens For the Fuji X-Pro1 is Coming

Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Lens For the Fuji X-Pro1 Coming Soon:

Hey everyone, I just received a call from my camera dealer that my XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Lens for the X-Pro1 has arrived.  He’s going to ship it on Monday so I should receive it probably Tuesday.  I can’t wait to try it out, and give you all another user review.  This review will be one of my most in depth because I’ve been really looking forward to using this lens so please stay tuned!  There were a few who have already used it, and say that it’s the best lens for the Fuji X-Pro1 so far.  Could the XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Lens be better than the XF 35mm F1.4 R lens?  That would be pretty incredible :).  I will definitely be putting it through its paces so come back, and check it out!

For now, you can check out my Fuji X-Pro1 review or my Fujinon XF 35mm F1.4 R lens review.  I know, I promised a XF 18mm F2.0 R lens review, and it’s still coming.  I promise.  I’m sorry it took me a bit longer but I’m probably going to post it later tonight or tomorrow.  I will also probably be posting some from my M9 since I got it back so soon from Leica NJ.  I don’t care what anyone says, Leica NJ has always done me right!  Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great Friday afternoon!  I heard it’s been a bit windy here in New York City.  I don’t know, I’ve actually been home all day writing for this blog (I have a few things lined up coming soon).  Thanks for taking the time out, and stopping by.  Take care!

My Leica M9 Cracked Sensor Fixed From Leica NJ!

Leica M9 Cracked Sensor Fixed:

For those who don’t know, the sensor in my Leica M9 cracked recently, and my camera dealer (Bergen County Camera) was nice enough to bring it over to Leica NJ.  You can read about it in two of my past posts (first post and second post).  Leica originally told my dealer that M9 sensors were backordered to maybe June but it turns out that apparently, they received new sensors :).  Leica NJ fixed the cracked sensor in my M9 free of charge.  I am very happy about this, and I can not wait to pick up my camera tomorrow.  It also goes to show you that it’s great to have a local dealer helping you out, and that’s why I still buy my Leicas from Bergen County Camera.  I don’t get anything for saying this, it’s just true.  They’ve been taking care of my family and I for 30 years. Fuji X-Pro1 Firmware 1.01 Update to Fix Lens Chatter

Fuji X-Pro1 Firmware Update Version 1.01:

Wow, just the other day, I was mentioning that Fuji was going to address the lens chatter in the Fuji X-Pro1, and guess what?  They just did with this new firmware release.  Many have been complaining about the lens chatter, and I really must congratulate Fuji on addressing this issue so fast.  I knew that they would fix issues that they may have with the X-Pro1, which is why I was confident to buy the camera right away.  Fuji has always shown a willingness to listen to consumers and fix their problems.  Now hopefully, they will be able to work with Adobe, and make the X-Pro1 RAW files compatible with Adobe Camera Raw.  Anyway, the link is here if you want the Fuji X-Pro1 Firmware update ver. 1.01:

Fuji X-Pro1 Firmware Update Ver 1.01

I’ll tell you if this firmware update was any good as soon as I start shooting with it tomorrow.  If you’ve already tried it, please feel free to let me know how it’s working for you. [continue reading…]
