A Little More 75 Summilux…:
The weather is warm, the sun is out, and everyone is playing outside. I’m still here in front of my computer processing a whole bunch of photos. But that’s ok with me I guess since I actually prefer the cold :). It gets so insanely crowded once spring comes to New York City but I guess you can’t blame anyone. It’s great walking around without a coat :). Here’s a photo of a New York City cab for you all :). It’s a simple photo but still one of my favorites. It was shot with my Leica M9 and 75 Summilux. This print came out great on Kodak’s metallic paper. [continue reading…]

75 Summilux Images:
I’ve been so busy processing images lately, I haven’t really even had much time to post anything big lately. I want to make it a point to post something new everyday so here are a few photos of my friend. The lighting in her apartment was perfect, and I couldn’t resist. She was trying to figure something out with her camera…one of the Olympus Pen cameras. These photos were taken with my Leica M9 and 75 Summilux, which I still have to bring back to Leica NJ for calibration. [continue reading…]

Locomotive Shot With My 50 Summilux ASPH:
I hope all of you had a good weekend. I was busy processing a bunch of wedding photos, and doing a little celebrating because it was my birthday :). The photo above was posted before. I posted it in The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania Through the Eyes of The Leica 50 Summilux ASPH so if you want to see more, please go over there, and check it out. The reason I posted it again was because I had a couple of people email me recently about this photo. I’m actually currently working on a gallery section for this blog where I will put up my favorite photos. [continue reading…]

Coney Island on a Cold Winter Day:
I was cleaning out my back up hard drives, and found this photo that I shot at Coney Island with my Leica M9 and 35 Summicron Version 4 or as some may affectionately call it, “King of Bokeh”. Regrettably, there’s none of that famous bokeh since I believe that this photo was shot at F16. All you get is tack sharpness :). Simple adjustments were done in Adobe Camera Raw, and then I used Nik Software Silver Efex Pro 2 to convert it to black and white. A lot of detail from a lens that’s 20 to 30 years old…One more reason to by a Leica M9: You can use lenses that are decades old with very satisfying results. [continue reading…]

Some 75 Summilux Love :):
I seriously love the 75 Summilux. It’s such a classic. I’m so glad my dad never sold it because I seriously love how the 75 Summilux performs on the Leica M9. He gave me his copy when I bought my M6 TTL. Too bad my copy focus shifts like crazy (It took a few tries to get the picture of the orchid sharp). In fact, because of the focus issues that I have with this lens, and it’s sheer size, I kind of used my 50 Summilux ASPH to replace both my 35 Summicron ASPH and the 75 lux. First off, I’m not the biggest fan of the 35mm even though I admit it’s probably the most useful lens for the Leica M system. Second, the 50 Summilux ASPH can definitely be used as a portrait lens so in some ways, it can replace the 75mm. The 50 lux ASPH is a very versatile lens, and I personally think it’s the best lens in the Leica catalog. [continue reading…]
