Cotton Carrier Skout Sling Style Camera Harness Review:
A neck strap is great, and it does come with most cameras you buy these days but it isn’t always the best way for some to carry a camera. If you do lot of biking, hiking or you just have a more active life style in general, having your camera swinging around your neck just isn’t ideal. You could get a wrist strap but it is not hands free, which leads me to what I’ll be talking about today. We’re going to take a closer look at the Skout, which is a sling style camera harness. The Skout is designed to carry one camera (or binocular depending on the version you order) securely and in an unencumbered way all while also giving you easy access to it. Cotton Carrier, the manufacturer of this harness, was kind enough to send me the Skout to review, and here are my thoughts on it. [continue reading…]

Fuji X-T3: Portrait Shoot on a Warmer Near Winter Day:
I had some Fuji related gear I had to finish reviewing a while back, so I took out my Fuji X-T3, and gave Michelle, who I’ve shot with many, many times before, a call. She’s absolutely one of my favorite people to shoot with; in fact, I’ve shot with her more than any other model so far (check out my Instagram, you’ll find hers there too). We shot around Chinatown in Manhattan (there are several in New York City). These pics are actually a couple of months old, which basically shows you how far behind I am ;). But the good news is I am finally catching up with a lot of my work. [continue reading…]
Fuji X-T3: Portrait Shoot Around NYC With The XF 35mm f1.4:
One of my friends, who’s actually an excellent street photographer, wanted to branch out a bit, and had asked if I could schedule a shoot for him with a model that I know. I did it and I said I would accompany him but I would not take any pics because currently, I have a ton of photos to still finish editing, and of course, finishing up some reviews for this blog. However, I’m never without a camera, and in this case, I brought along my Fuji X-T3 just in case ;). I also brought along a few lenses: one of my favorites, the XF 56mm f1.2 APD, the XF 18-55mm, and the XF 35mm f1.4. [continue reading…]

Leica D-Lux 7 Compact Camera First Impressions:
The past few months have been quite busy for me, as I mentioned in previous posts. But things are slowly clearing up, and I can finally get back to posting up some new reviews. A couple of weeks ago, I received the new Leica D-Lux 7 to review, and I was eager to try it because the D-Lux series and I have had a long history. I was a stubborn film guy that waited to the very last minute to switch to digital, and so the D-Lux 3 (or 4…it’s been a while, so I can’t remember) was actually my first digital camera. I was still primarily using my Leica M6 at the time. I loved that little D-Lux, and ever since then, I’ve always had a soft spot for the series. I’ve owned a few in the past, which includes the previous version, the D-Lux Typ 109, so I definitely wanted to know more about the new 7. [continue reading…]

Leica SL: A Walk Around Chinatown With a Friend
It’s a rainy, dreary day today, which means, at least for me, it’s a perfect time to catch up on work where I’m primarily using a computer. I’ve been editing so many different photos lately that I’m actually kind of sick of looking at pictures lol, so I decided to catch up on my blog a bit. I’m writing up a first impressions review of the new Leica D-Lux 7, which I will post probably this week. I’m also finishing up my Fuji X-T3 review. In the mean time, I thought I’d post a few pics I took with my Leica SL and Summilux-SL 50mm ASPH, while hanging out with a friend in Chinatown. [continue reading…]
