Photo From My Fuji X-T1 Days of NYC Landscape at Night:
Hey everyone. So, I’m finally clearing up my workload, and can get back to posting here more consistently. I’ve just been so busy lately. I’ve been doing tons of portrait and boudoir shoots (1-3 per week since last May), and I think I overdid them. It’s just been more difficult than I imagined integrating that part of my photography with the stuff that I do on this blog but the good news is, my schedule is clearing up, so I can get back to posting here on a more consistent basis. My X-T3 review is still coming, and I did get the new Leica D-Lux 7 in to review. I owned a few D-Lux cameras in the past, so I’ve always been a fan of the series. I’ve shot with the D-Lux 7 already, and I’ll probably post a first impressions soon. For now, I thought I’d share an image I actually shot 3 or 4 years ago with my Fuji X-T1. [continue reading…]

Rokinon 10mm f2.8 ED AS NCS CS Lens Review For Fuji X:
If you’re looking for a wide angle lens, there are tons to choose from nowadays. You can stick to more “common” wide angle focal lengths like a 24mm or 21mm. You could even go a little wider with an 18mm. But if those just aren’t wide enough, there are more extreme ones like the Rokinon 10mm f2.8 ED AS NCS CS lens, which is what I’m going to talk about today. On a cropped APS-C sensor, such as, the one in my X-T3, which is what I used to review this lens, you’re getting a 15mm equivalent, and a 109.5 angle of view. Let’s take a closer look. Samyang 85mm f1.4 Aspherical IF Lens Review Fuji X:
Let’s say you want to up your portrait game, and you’re looking to expand your lens collection. Maybe you’re looking for a decent telephoto for more compression. Well, if you are, you’re probably going to come across some pretty expensive glass, especially if you’re looking for something with a large aperture. Since I am a Fuji user, I’d probably look at the XF 90mm f2, which is one of my favorite lenses but unfortunately, carries a price to match it’s awesome abilities. If however, you don’t mind a little manual focusing, you might want to check out the Samyang 85mm f1.4 Aspherical IF lens. Factoring in the crop factor, you’ll get a 127.5mm equivalent, which is similar to the XF 90mm. The large f1.4 aperture means you’ll get ultra shallow depth of field, and the best part is it’s priced at a very reasonable $279.95 (currently $229 with a $50.95 rebate at B&H Photo). Let’s take a closer look at this lens. [continue reading…]

Visiting Mystic Seaport Museum with the Fujifilm X-T3:
My apologies everyone for not posting new content in a very long time. I don’t plan on making a lack of new posts a habit; in fact, I’ve actually been reviewing a lot of stuff, and I’ll be posting them up very soon. I’ve also been doing a lot of portrait and boudoir work lately, and I’ve been swamped with edits that I had to finish. I will post some of that work as well, and include them in my reviews. Anyway, I did go to Mystic Seaport Museum for a couple of days last month, and I thought I’d start out posting some stuff from my trip. [continue reading…]
Fujifilm Vertical Battery Grip VG-XT3 Review:
The new Fuji X-T3 is a versatile camera that is up to pretty much any task you can throw at it. It offers the perfect blend of features, such as, being well-made and weather sealed. The electronics and autofocus are also ultra fast. To top it all off, the X-T3 produces superb images. At least for me, there’s not much more I would need in an APS-C mirrorless camera. It also comes in silver, which I personally love :). However, if you’re finding yourself shooting in portrait orientation a lot, it might be time for you to take a look at one of the X-T3’s new accessories: the Fujifilm Vertical Battery Grip VG-XT3. At $329, it’s not exactly cheap but it can offer say the portrait photographer much needed ergonomic support. [continue reading…]
