Fujifilm X-A5 Mirrorless Camera Review:
I love mirrorless cameras, and I’m happy to see more and more of them on the market. There are all types now from mid-level to ones with all the bells and whistles. Of course, there are entry level ones for people just starting out as well. One such model is Fuji’s new X-A5. Looking purely at the specs, the X-A5 seems to offer quite a lot for it’s asking price of $599. It not only promises faster autofocus than its predecessor, the X-A3, it comes packed with a 24 megapixel APS-C sensor. In addition, it’s included optically stabilized XC 15-45mm f3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens equates to about a 23-69mm giving its user a lens that covers a lot of ground. So, how does the X-A5 perform in actual use? Well, I had this camera on loan for a bit, and here are my thoughts on it.

Leica M10 Photos: Back From Tokyo Japan
I’m back from Tokyo, and I have to say, it really didn’t feel like a long vacation but then again, what vacation ever feels long enough, right ;)? I definitely miss it already; it’s a place I’ve been to many times before yet I still can’t get enough of it. I love the sounds, the smells, the sites, the culture, and also the food, of course :). Anyway, as some of you know, I brought the Leica M10, and the new Billingham Hadley Small Pro with me to test this time. Expect reviews (my first impressions of the Hadley Small Pro is here) of both but for now, I thought I’d post a few pics from my trip. These are definitely not all my photos that I took. They’re just the ones I managed to do while drifting in and out of consciousness lol. I’ve been experiencing a bad case of jet lag, which was never an issue for me in the past. The bulk of my photos will be in my M10 review. [continue reading…]
Billingham Hadley Small Pro First Impressions:
One of the most popular bags from Billingham is the Hadley Small. It makes sense to because it has all the features that people are looking for in a compact high end bag. It’s made from high quality materials, it’s expertly crafted, and it’s made to last. It also doesn’t hurt that the Hadley Small can carry a ton of stuff for such a small bag. Recently though, Billingham have release a new and improved version called the Hadley Small Pro, and thanks to Billingham, I was able to get one to bring to Japan with me to review. Here are my first impressions of it. [continue reading…]
The Gear I’m Bringing to Tokyo Japan:
It’s that time again…vacation time lol. This time around, I’m going back to Tokyo. I haven’t been in a few years, and quite frankly, I miss it. I miss the sounds, the smells, the lights, and the amazing food! This time around, I am going to try Fugu (puffer fish sushi). Wish me luck :). I’m also bringing a couple of things with me to review. Leica Noctilux-M 75mm f1.25 ASPH in Stock at Bergen County Camera:
So guess what I heard? I was in Bergen County Camera playing around with the Leica stuff and probably driving Bob (one of the owners) a little crazy when he told me that they are getting a Noctilux-M 75mm f1.25 ASPH some time next week (I know I said actually in stock meaning now but I couldn’t fit that in the title, and it is coming next week). That’s quite fast but I’ve been buying my Leica stuff from BBC for years, and they generally get the stuff pretty fast. Just to give you an example: I’ve been shooting with my brand new APO-Summicron-SL 90mm f2 ASPH for almost a month now. There are a lot of stores that never even got their first copy yet.
Anyway, if you’re at all interested in purchasing a Noctilux-M 75mm f1.25 ASPH or if you have questions about it (Bob is a very nice guy), you can definitely give him a call or even shoot out an email. The number is (201)-664-4113, and his email can be found on Bergen County Camera’s website. It’s a Leica Boutique, so they ship everywhere. I imagine that this is a very, VERY rare lens, and I must confess that I am tempted myself. I would have to sell my new 90mm though, and I just can’t do that; I love it, and it has autofocus :). Thanks for stopping by!
