A Look Back at The Fuji XF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 Lens:
I wanted to talk a little bit about the Fuji XF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens today. I reviewed it a while back when it was first released, so this isn’t a review. If you want more info, you can check out my actual review. I also did a 1.4x Teleconverter review as well. [continue reading…]
Fujifilm New Savings on Lenses and Cameras:
It’s that time again where we get some pretty cool promotions from Fujifilm. There are actually some decent savings, and it applies to lenses and bodies. There’s savings on the X-T2, X-T20, and even the GFX system. In fact, there are some really nice savings on GFX lenses, and of course, the body. For example, you can save $1,000 purchasing a GFX and lens kit. The link below will direct you to the Fujifilm savings page:
Fujifilm X Series at B&H Photo
Maybe it’s finally time I finally pick up that XF 90mm I’m always raving about :). I’ve always wanted the XF 100-400mm as well but that’s just a beast to carry around in NYC lol. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Cravar Rana Series Premium Leather Camera Bags:
There are a lot of great choices these days, if you want a leather bag for your camera gear. We all know companies like ONA, and Oberwerth for example. Now, there is another manufacturer entering the leather bag world: Cravar. Cravar has been making all types of premium leather goods, and now with their new Rana Series, they are specifically targeting photographers. From the looks of the features, quality of materials, and price, these bags are definitely aiming to impress. Cravar has four sizes to choose from, and I will reviewing one shortly (I can’t wait!). For now, here’s some info on them, and of course, some press photos. You should also take a look at their Kickstarter campaign. [continue reading…]
Gitzo Century Compact Messenger First Impressions:
When I first heard about Gitzo coming out with new camera bags, I have to admit, I was a bit surprised. From personal experience, I know they make fantastic tripods that are built to last but camera bags? Well, the more I looked into them, the more they peaked my interest. Take for example, the Gitzo Century Compact, which is what I will be talking about today. First off, the storage space looks decent. There’s even room for a tablet yet the bag itself isn’t that big. It’s actually quite small. Plus, it looks like this series of bags have some pretty unique features, and best of all, the prices aren’t crazy high. Gitzo currently makes one backpack, and two messenger bags. The Century Compact is the smallest. It has just enough room for a decent mirrorless setup, and here are my first impressions of it. For those interested, there’s a deal on a Fujifilm X-T20 with the 16-50mm, and 50-230mm lenses along with a Grip for $1,199, which basically saves you $329.90. The link is below:
Fuji X-T20 w/16-50mm, 50-230mm, and Grip at B&H Photo
If you want more info on the X-T20, you can read my review. It is a fantastic camera that I have to say, comes pretty darn close in performance to the higher end X Series cameras like the X-T2 and X-Pro2.
For those waiting on the X-E3, I am getting one in to review, which I’m quite excited about. I’ve always been a huge fan of the X-E series. I love the series so much that back in the day, I traded my X-Pro1 in for an X-E1, and later bought an X-E2. So, I will definitely be doing more than just reviewing the camera here. I plan to put it through its paces while I have it, and of course, I will write up whatever I find here from the review to even a couple of comparison write ups. So, stay tuned, and thanks for stopping by!
