Upcoming Reviews: Fuji And Leica Gear:

Sorry for the lack of posts lately!  I hurt my back last week (pinched nerve), and I’ve been busy playing catch up.  I have a bunch of reviews coming up, one being the Fuji XF 23mm f2 R WR lens.  I’ve been getting a lot of questions about it, and a few who are a little worried but if you want my opinion, this has been a great lens to use overall.  It’s less conspicuous than the f1.4 version, focuses faster, and it’s more compact.  It does have its issues like every other lens, which I will discuss more about it in my upcoming review but overall, it’s definitely a nice lens to have in a collection.  Btw, I reply to all my emails but I had trouble getting back to one or two of you.  The email addresses don’t work, so if you haven’t received a reply yet, either email me with a different address or just leave a comment below :).

Getting back to what’s next, I am also busy reviewing other items like the Fuji XF 50-140mm.  The XF 50-140mm is an older lens, and definitely not easy on my back lol but I thought it would be great to test on the new X-T2.  Speaking of, for those who have not read it yet but are interested, I did review the X-T2 a few weeks ago.  This is an awesome camera.  Check out my review, if you get a chance!  Other items up for review…some Leica gear, and the X-T2 booster grip, which I will post up this week.  I’ll also have a few surprises along the way.  Alright everyone, let me get back to finishing up these reviews.  Stay tuned, and thanks for stopping by!

Fujifilm XF 23mm f2 R WR Lens First Impressions:

When I reviewed the Fuji XF 23mm f1.4 (review here), one of the things that I mentioned was that while it is a fantastic optic, it’s rather large to use as an everyday lens.  I thought a great alternative was for Fuji to create an f2 version, and so did many others.  Truthfully, for a 35mm equivalent lens, you don’t always need that extra stop.  In fact, I usually like to stop it down to around f4 to f8.  I’d like the f1.4 aperture for certain times but I personally wouldn’t use it enough to justify not only the extra cost but more importantly, the size.  Well, as we all know, Fuji have recently released the XF 23mm f2 R WR lens.  Here are my first impressions. Olympus OM-D E-M1 and 12-40mm Lens $800 Off:

A newer version is coming but for those interested, B&H Photo has a great deal on the current Olympus OM-D E-M1.  There’s an instant savings of $800, which means the total price is $1,299!  This also includes a 12-40mm.  For those interested in maybe purchasing a second body or even trying out an Olympus micro four thirds camera, this may be a great option.  The link is below:
