Fujifilm XF 80mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro Lens Review:
In just a short amount of time, Fujifilm have gone to great efforts to create a lens collection for the X Series system that is not only versatile but complete in an attempt to satisfy a vast majority of photographers. They have lenses in the ultra wide range all the way up to longer telephotos. But one area where one could argue needs a little improvement is lenses concerning macro photography. They do have the XF 60mm f2.4, which is one of the first XF lenses to be introduced, and extension tubes but I’m sure most of us can agree: we need more macro choices from Fuji :)! So, Fujifilm heard us, of course, and recently released the new XF 80mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro lens. Let’s take a closer look. [continue reading…]
7artisans 25mm f1.8 Lens Fujifilm X-Mount First Impressions:
Being that this is Memorial Day weekend, I’ll make this short and sweet. I finished my Fuji XF 80mm f2.8 Macro review, and I will post it in the beginning of next week but now, I’m going to talk to you a little about the Photoelectric 25mm f1.8 by 7artisans. Why is this anything special? The truth is, there are plenty of 25mm lenses that we can use on the Fuji X Series bodies. Well, for one, this specific lens comes in at less than $70. I have to say, I haven’t felt the need for a 25mm lens but at this price, even I’m tempted to buy one :). So let’s take a closer look at it. [continue reading…]
Fuji XF 80mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro Lens First Impressions:
Apologies for the lack of post everyone! There will be a lot of stuff coming soon. I’ve actually been quite busy in the background these days reviewing a few things. For Leica users, I’ve been putting together not only my APO Summicron-SL 90mm f2 ASPH review (it’ll be a long one with plenty of pics) but a bunch of other SL related reviews. For Fuji users, I have a 7Artisan lens review coming up. I’ve also been shooting with the new Fuji XF 80mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro Lens, and I thought I’d share my first impressions of it. Opteka 35mm f1.7 Lens Review For Fujifilm X:
I’m always on the lookout for 50mm (or 50mm equivalent) lenses because the focal length is my favorite. I don’t necessarily buy them all; I just like to see what’s out there. Like many others, I also like good deals, if I can get them. So, when I saw the new Opteka 35mm f1.7, I definitely wanted to get one in to review. Why? Well for one, it has a reasonably fast maximum aperture. It also sells for about $90, and it comes in Fuji X Mount. In other words, no adapters required. So, how is this lens? Read on and find out! Fujifilm X-A5 Mirrorless Camera Review:
I love mirrorless cameras, and I’m happy to see more and more of them on the market. There are all types now from mid-level to ones with all the bells and whistles. Of course, there are entry level ones for people just starting out as well. One such model is Fuji’s new X-A5. Looking purely at the specs, the X-A5 seems to offer quite a lot for it’s asking price of $599. It not only promises faster autofocus than its predecessor, the X-A3, it comes packed with a 24 megapixel APS-C sensor. In addition, it’s included optically stabilized XC 15-45mm f3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens equates to about a 23-69mm giving its user a lens that covers a lot of ground. So, how does the X-A5 perform in actual use? Well, I had this camera on loan for a bit, and here are my thoughts on it.
(If you’ve been on my site before, you probably know some of my reviews are longer than this one. This is a shorter review than I normally post). [continue reading…]
