Preview of The Fuji X-A5 Mirrorless Camera:

Hey everyone.  So, I wanted to let all of you know what is coming next.  I actually have two new Fuji-related pieces of gear I’ll be writing reviews for.  One is the Opteka 35mm f1.7 lens.  I know what all of you are going to say: “We have plenty of 50mm equivalents for the Fuji!”  But not only is this lens X mount, it’s about $90 new!  Yes, you read that right, $90 bucks.  I’ve been using it, and it’s actually decent too.  I also have in my hands the new Fuji X-A5. Fuji X-E3 vs. X-T2 Comparison: Which One is Right For You?

Apologies for the lack of blog posts lately.  I hurt my back from a sneeze out of all things lol.  Anyway, I thought I’d post something before Christmas, so here it is.  The current Fuji body that I own is the X-T2 but I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t a little tempted by new X-E3 ;).  It’s a really nice camera.  It definitely has a lot to offer, and the price is decent.  While the X-T2 ultimately fits my needs best, I still found myself comparing the two cameras quite a lot in my head, and I’m sure I’m not the only one that did this or is doing this, so I decided to write up a little comparison between the two.  I won’t be just listing the specs.  I’m sure all of you can easily google for that information.  In this comparison, I am listing what would be the major selling points for myself after having used both these cameras in actual real world settings.  While I may be listing the differences that are important to me, feel free to add anything else in the comment section that I haven’t mentioned.  Let’s get started. Fujifilm X-E3 Mirrorless Camera Review:

I’ve always had a soft spot for the Fuji X-E series cameras, so when I heard the news that Fuji was going to release the X-E3, I was definitely excited to get my hands on one.  I was a proud owner of an X-E1 and X-E2.  I use an X-T2 now but don’t think for a moment I don’t miss my X-E2.  I always felt the X-E series offered quite a lot for the price.  With a wealth of new features, this new X-E3 promises even more, and today, I’ll talk about whether or not I feel my expectations were met.  Let’s get started. A Look at The Fujifilm XF 56mm f1.2 R APD Lens:

I imagine some of you are getting ready for Thanksgiving, so I’m going to keep it short today.  I know I still have to do a little last minute food shopping myself but I thought I’d write up one more post before Thanksgiving.  So, last night I was working on some of the pictures for my upcoming Fuji X-E3 review (which I’ll probably post next week), and I started to look at a couple of files I took with the XF 56mm f1.2 APD.  The lens is my own copy, not a loaner but I haven’t used it in months until a couple of days ago with the X-E3.  The funny thing is it’s been so long since I’ve used the XF 56mm APD that I kind of forgot how much of an impact this lens has in terms of rendering.  The smooth bokeh is so pleasing…to be honest, it kind of surprised me in a good way. The ACROS Film Mode in the Fujifilm X-E3:

Hey everyone!  So, I am definitely a RAW shooter.  I have friends that shoot in jpeg, and they even edit from them but my personal preference has always been to shoot in RAW.  In fact, pretty much every photo on this blog has been processed from a RAW file.  So, when Fujifilm came out with the ACROS film simulation mode for their X Series cameras a while back, I thought it was really cool but I haven’t really used it much.  I think I tried it once or twice but that was about it.
