7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f0.95 Lens Review:
If you’re in the market for a large aperture lens for taking photos in dimly lit areas or for ultra shallow depth of field work, there are plenty to choose from these days that are also reasonably priced for what you’re getting. For instance, 7artisans has some cool lenses, and if you’re with the Fujifilm X-Series system, you might want to take a look at the Photoelectric 35mm f0.95 lens. With such a large maximum aperture, this lens is quite flexible as to what it can shoot, and how it can render an image. I had the opportunity to give this lens a try with my Fuji X-T3, and here’s what I think of it. [continue reading…]

7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f0.95 First Impressions:
If you’re after beautiful bokeh, you probably want a fast lens, and the good news is, there are quite a lot to choose from these days, especially if you’re in the Fujifilm X Series system. Best of all, they aren’t all as insanely priced as they once used to be, which is always good. Take for instance, the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f0.95 Lens. Priced at just $249, it’s not only significantly cheaper than Fujifilm’s own 35mm f1.4, it’s even slightly lower in price than the f2 version as well. I was able to get the 35mm f0.95 in to review, and I’ve been shooting it just a bit. Here are my first impressions of it. [continue reading…]

If you’re looking for an ultra wide angle lens, there are plenty to choose from, especially if you’re a Fujifilm X Series shooter. For instance, if you want something extremely wide…I mean like something that really pushes the limits, you might be interested in what Venus Optics Laowa has up their sleeves: the 9mm f2.8 Zero-D lens. Yes, I said 9mm :). On the Fujifilm camera or any other APS-C camera for that matter, this equates to a 13.5mm lens. I have never shot with anything this wide before (non-fisheye at least), so I was definitely looking forward to testing this lens out. Here’s what I think of it. [continue reading…]
Venus Optics Laowa 4mm f2.8 Fisheye Lens Review:
If you’re looking for something that is a bit different, and will add some fun back to your photography, a fisheye lens is something that can be great to use. There are quite a few out there these days for many different systems, and all in various price ranges. One of them is the Venus Optics Laowa 4mm f2.8 Fisheye, which is one of the widest focal lengths currently on the market. It comes in several different mounts ranging from Leica L to Fuji X mount. I was able to get my hands on an X mount version, and here’s my review of it. [continue reading…]

Venus Optics Laowa 4mm f2.8 Fisheye Lens First Look:
Hey everyone. I will be quite busy this week doing a little construction in my home but I wanted to at least show you what I’ve been up to lately in terms of photography. I have a few new ultra wide angle lenses for both L mount and X Series that I am currently reviewing. One of them is the Venus Optics Laowa 4mm f2.8 Fisheye, which I’m going to talk about today. I’ve used fisheyes before but nothing this wide before. Here are my first impressions of it. [continue reading…]
