Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.2 Aspherical III Lens First Impressions:

There are tons of 35mm lenses out there, especially with the M mount.  Why?  Because it is an extremely popular focal length as many of you know, especially for many M users who find it to be the perfect street or/and everyday lens.  Many different manufacturers make M mount 35mm lenses, and today, I’ll be talking about my first impressions of one that is made by Voigtlander: The Nokton 35mm f1.2 Aspherical III. Sigma 70mm f2.8 DG Macro Art Lens Review L Mount:

I must admit that I don’t really shoot much macro probably because I was a Leica M user for so many years, and while there are ways to shoot macro with an M like say using the Leica Macro-Elmar-M 90mm f4, it’s just not really that convenient.  The Leica SL system changed a lot for me, especially when the L Mount Alliance was established.  One way it changed things for me was being able to shoot with a lens like the Sigma 70mm f2.8 DG Macro Art lens.  I had this lens on loan for a few weeks, and tested it entirely with my Leica SL2.  Here’s what I think of it. Weekly Portrait Post: Photos From The Fall With My Leica SL2:

As some of you know, I haven’t been consistent with my weekly portrait sets because of the lockdown that we experienced.  Lockdown is over in New York City now but meeting people to shoot still isn’t easy as before.  Even going out to just review gear has its challenges.  It’ll probably be a while before I actually post a portrait set consistently each week but since I am still doing model shoots (although not as frequently as before), I’ll post one here and there until I can get back that consistency again.  For instance, this set I’m posting today was actually from my first ever shoot with my Leica SL2 back in the Fall of 2019.  I liked this set but for some reason, I just never got to it until now.  The model in these photos is Stephanie (Instagram). Sigma 70mm f2.8 DG Macro Art Lens First Impressions L Mount:

The L Mount Alliance has grown steadily with new gear coming out from all three manufacturers.  As some of you know, I have always been big Sigma fan, and every lens that I’ve used so far with my Leica SL and now, my SL2 have been fantastic.  Well, there might just be another one added to that list.  I don’t normally shoot much macro…not that I have anything against it.  It’s just something I don’t do much but recently, I’ve been testing the Sigma 70mm f2.8 DG Macro Art lens, and I have to say, I’m very impressed so far.  In addition to doing its macro duties, it has been my short tele for the last few weeks. Voigtlander Color-Skopar 21mm f4 P Lens Review:

For those looking for a wide angle lens that is M mount, there are quite a lot of them out there.  Leica, of course, makes a few but there are numerous other manufacturers as well.  One of them is Voigtlander, and the lens I was using for an extended period of time is the Color-Skopar 21mm f4 P.  As you can see by the name, it has a modest maximum aperture but it sure makes up for it in terms of size: this is seriously one of the smallest 21mm lenses that I’ve used.  Also, this has actually become one of my favorite 21mm lenses.  Here’s why.
