Panasonic Lumix GX85 Review:
There are plenty of compact cameras out there but if you’re looking for something decent for under $800, the choices shrinks considerably. But there are still some really good ones. Take for instance, the new Panasonic Lumix GX85. It comes in at $797.99, and promises not just a ton of features but also features found in more expensive cameras. To top that off, Panasonic has also included a zoom lens for that price. So, how good is the GX85 really? Well, I had this on loan for a while, and here is what I think of it. [continue reading…]
Fuji MCEX-11 And MCEX-16 Extension Tubes Review:
Extension tubes can be great tools for those who are looking for a cheaper alternative when doing close up or macro work. They are also great for people who just want to experiment with macro photography but are not necessarily ready to invest a lot of money into a macro lens. Olympus 9mm f8.0 Fisheye Body Cap Lens Review:
Instead of a plain, boring body cap for your camera, wouldn’t it be cool to have something like a lens built into a body cap? Well, Olympus have done just that, and added a nice twist to it: for $84, you can get a body cap that contains a 9mm f8.0 fisheye lens. Given how unique this lens is, and my fondness for fisheye lenses, I knew I had to give it a try. [continue reading…]
Panasonic Lumix GX85 First Impressions:
Right now, I have with me the Panasonic Lumix GX85, and it is one of the next cameras that I am reviewing. It couldn’t arrive at a better time considering summer is just about to start. With the huge list of features, picture quality, and overall size of the GX85, I would imagine that this would make a fantastic camera to bring on vacation or walk around with on these hot summer days. My review will be coming soon. I figured for now, I’d write up a first impressions with some images. [continue reading…]
Fuji XF 1.4x TC WR Teleconverter Review:
As of now, the lens with the longest range in the Fuji X Series is the XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6. If you want something longer that is made by Fuji, you’ll either have to wait until they release something new or purchase the XF 1.4x TC WR Teleconverter. The XF 100-400mm is equivalent to a 152mm-609mm in 35mm terms but with the 1.4x teleconverter, you can extend that range to a crazy 213mm-853mm equivalent. Of course, along with the advantages of a teleconverter, there are disadvantages, and today, I’ll talk about both in great detail, so that you can decide if the XF 1.4x Teleconverter is right for you.
