Fuji XF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens Review:
It’s only been a few short years yet Fuji has definitely been very busy expanding their X Series system. They went from having just three fixed focal length lenses to a system that now encompasses a vast range of different fixed focal length and zoom lenses. Thanks to the newly released Fuji XF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens, they’ve now expanded to the extreme telephoto range. So far, Fuji have done a really good job making some first class lenses, so expectations are very high for this new zoom, especially since the asking price of $1899 makes this the most expensive lens in the X Series system so far. So, does the XF 100-400mm fulfill these expectations? Does it measure up? Read on and find out!

Olympus M.ZUIKO 8mm f1.8 Fisheye PRO Review:
One of the reasons why the micro four thirds system is so appealing is because it has such a vast collection of excellent lenses to choose from. The previous micro four thirds lens that I reviewed was the Panasonic 42.5mm Nocticron (review here), and it was an absolutely superb short tele but this time around, I decided to try something completely different. I’ve always been fond of fisheye lenses, so this time, I decided to review the Olympus M.ZUIKO 8mm f1.8 Fisheye PRO. Being that this is part of Olympus’ PRO line, there is a lot packed into this little fisheye but at $899, there are definitely cheaper choices out there, so one has to wonder, is it worth the asking price? Read on and find out. [continue reading…]
Panasonic Leica 42.5mm F1.2 DG Nocticron ASPH Review:
It seems that no camera system is complete without certain lenses, and one of these lenses is a fast short tele. Along with a few other choices, the Panasonic Leica 42.5mm F1.2 DG Nocticron ASPH lens, which gives its micro four thirds user an 85mm equivalent, fits this class perfectly. It’s one of those lenses in the “special” category that all camera systems have, and of course, it also comes with a high price. In fact, with an asking price of almost $1,600 ($1,400 now at B&H Photo), it is one of the most expensive lenses that you can purchase for the micro four thirds system. With so many other great options to choose from, one has to wonder, is it really worth the price? Well, I wanted to find out for myself, so when I had the Olympus Pen-F on loan, the first lens I asked for was the Nocticron. I realize that this lens has been out for a while now but it’s something that I’ve always wanted to try for long term. Plus, since there are plenty of great reviews of this lens already, I can concentrate on more of the fun stuff like the photos, and try to give all of you a more real world experience of it. But for those who also like the technical stuff, don’t worry; there will be plenty of it as well ;). [continue reading…]
Olympus Pen-F Mirrorless Camera Review:
I’ve always been attracted to Olympus Pen cameras for a lot of the same reasons its users like them. Their compact, retro-inspired forms are attractive but there’s definitely more than meets the eye; they are also versatile cameras that can produce excellent images. But one feature I felt was always missing was a built-in viewfinder, which is why the OM-D series was always what I would look at first if I were to consider a micro four thirds system from Olympus. However, decisions just got a little more difficult with the newly released Pen-F. Not only is there a new built-in viewfinder, there is a list of other upgrades, improvements, and features. Unlike the SLR-like qualities of the OM-D series, the Pen-F has a more rangefinder-like design. So, the question is, which one is best for you? Read on and find out. [continue reading…]
Billingham Alice L2 Camera Bag Review:
With the popularity of mirrorless cameras increasing, the need for a bag that can comfortably fit a light kit is in higher demand. Luckily, Billingham, a manufacturer who’ve been making camera bags for quite a long time, have several models to choose from that fits this criteria. They have bags, such as, the Hadley Small, and the M Combination bag. Both bags are very popular but they may not be perfect for everyone. That’s why there is also another option: The Billingham Alice L2. The Alice L2 is a classic and has been in the Billingham catalogue for quite some time. It offers many of the same features as the other two bags that I’ve just mentioned but it also has it’s own unique traits, which I will talk more about in this review. [continue reading…]
