Sigma 16mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary Review Fuji X:
Fujifilm makes some fantastic lenses but it never hurts to have more variety, and well, there are plenty of other options out there these days. For instance, Sigma has been introducing some lenses in Fuji X mount, and one of these that may appeal to a lot of photographers is the 16mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary. With the cropped sensor factored in, this lens equates to a 24mm, which is ideal for a a variety of subjects ranging from landscape, candid to photojournalism. Sigma 105mm f1.4 DG HSM Art Lens First Impressions:
If you’re looking for a portrait lens for your L mount camera, there are actually a lot of choices currently out there. One lens is the Sigma 105mm f1.4 DG HSM Art lens. Thanks to Sigma, I was able to get a loaner a while back. I had enough material for a review but in the end, I wanted a bit more because this is one of those lenses that I felt was extra special. Sigma 56mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary Review Fuji X:
The Fujifilm X Series system is quite popular because of several reasons with one being there is a great selection of lenses to support the cameras. These lenses aren’t just made by Fujifilm but also from other manufacturers as well. For instance, Sigma has recently started producing lenses with X mount, and one of these is the 56mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary. I’ve tested this lens previously in other mounts, so while this review may be a bit more condense, I’ll be focusing more on how it performs with X Series cameras. [continue reading…]
Leica Elmarit-M 28mm f2.8 ASPH Lens Review:
We all know, and love those super fast optics like the Noctilux and Summilux lenses but I think what Leica is really good at making as well are compact lenses that don’t necessarily have the largest maximum aperture but instead, offer great handling and usability. An example is pretty much any 35mm Summicron M lens or the Elmarit-M 28mm f2.8 ASPH, which is what I want to talk about here. I owned a 28mm Elmarit-M ASPH a few years ago during my M9 days but the latest version has been slightly updated, so I thought I’d see if I could get one to test out. Here’s what I think of it. Sigma 24mm f1.4 DG DN Art Lens Review L Mount:
If you’re in the market for a wide angle with a large maximum aperture, Sigma has announced two new lenses today: the 20mm f1.4 DG DN Art, and the 24mm f1.4 DG DN Art. Thanks to them, I received both L mount versions of these lenses to test out before their release date, so I can write reviews for them.
