An Old Chevy Pickup in Brooklyn:
Wow, temperatures today in New York City were 71 degrees today! Crazy considering it was 25 degrees on Tuesday morning. Anyway, check out what I saw: you never see these often…well at least not in Brooklyn. I was walking around my neighborhood, and saw this old Chevy pickup truck parked near a local park. If they made new Chevy trucks as attractive as this old one, I might consider changing my car :). I shot these photos with my Leica M9 and 50 Summilux ASPH all at F1.4. Two were shot at ISO 640 and one was shot at ISO 800. I used Nik Software Silver Efex Pro 2 to give it that vintage sepia look. [continue reading…]

Maneki Neko Meets Leica:
Maneki Neko (“Beckoning Cat”) also known as Lucky Cat is a Japanese sculture traditionally believed to bring good luck to its owner. You usually find these cats at the entrances of shops, restaurants, and other businesses. This one was found in the Flushing, Queens Chinatown. The Lucky Cat is frequently mistaken for Chinese in origin because they are very popular in Chinese communities but they are most definitely of Japanese origin. I shot this with my favorite combo: the Leica M9 and 50 Summilux ASPH. I thought it was kind of cool to shoot this cat wide open with the gate in front of it, and then convert it to black and white. Adobe Lightroom 4:
Big news for all you Lightroom fans :). Adobe has released Lightroom 4, and it looks pretty cool. I was actually a little surprised that this version came out so fast. The Beta version was released just a few months ago. I’m a Photoshop user, and have resisted Lightroom for quite some time but I think I might actually give it a try. This version seems to have a lot of cool stuff that I might want to try out. [continue reading…]

What’s Been Keeping Me Busy From Going Out With My Leica M9:
I will be posting more in the future but thought I’d let you all in on what I’ve been busy doing this weekend. This photo was from a wedding that I should’ve finished processing by now but I must admit that I am a big procrastinator. It didn’t help that I got crazy busy either. Anyway, the whole wedding was shot with my Leica M9, and 50 Summilux ASPH. I brought my other lenses but there was no need. Ever since I bought the lux, it replaced both my 35 Summicron ASPH and my 75 Summilux. The 50 lux is such a versatile lens. I can not give it enough praise. I have a lot from this lens so stay tuned for a 50 Summilux ASPH review in the near future. [continue reading…]

Busy Weekend But Looking Forward to Shooting With My Leica M9 Again:
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a very busy but productive one. I’ve been working on some wedding photos that I will post up soon. I should’ve had these done a while ago but I just got too busy. They were all shot with the Leica M9, and only one lens: the 50 Summilux ASPH. The lux not only produces breathtaking images, it is also a very versatile lens. Since I was busy for the whole weekend, I didn’t get much of a chance to go out and take any pics but I will leave you all with the photo in this post. [continue reading…]
