Leica M9 Woes And Sunset in New York City:
It’s one of those weeks…I’ve been out taking photos all over the New York City but nothing really interests me. I think I need a change of scenery. Maybe somewhere a bit more sunny, and little more friendly :). Plus, I’ve been making so many mistakes…stupid mistakes. For instance, I deleted four potential photos off my Leica M9 by accident. How is it that I delete the only images that I like? I got into this stupid habit of deleting images while I’m walking when I should really be going home, and checking them on the computer before I delete them. I’ve been missing shots lately as well. I hate when I’m walking on the street, and I see the potential of a great photo opportunity only AFTER I walk right past it. [continue reading…]

The Leica 50 Summilux ASPH vs. The Leica 75 Summilux:
My last post was about my brother in-law’s golden retriever Kopi. There was one pic that had a nice glow to it, and if you look closely, the eye is tack sharp. That photo got me thinking. I shot a similar photo with my 75 Summilux a couple of years ago, and the eye was also tack sharp. The 50 Summilux ASPH is suppose to be the best 50 out there. I’m not doubting that at all but I was just wondering how my recent photo of Kopi with the 50 lux compared to the photo I shot of her with my 75 lux a couple of years ago. [continue reading…]

Another Post With My Dream Lens, The 50 Summilux ASPH :):
All hopes of a cold winter (a normal winter here in New York) I guess are down the drain. I love the cold winters in New York, and I almost feel a bit cheated that I didn’t get it this year. Well, to be honest, it’s actually semi snowing/slushing/raining outside as I’m writing to you right now :). But…it’s not going to stick because it’s going to be warm this week. Anyway, here are some photos I shot of my brother in-law’s golden retriever Kopi. Photos were shot with my Leica M9 and 50 Summilux ASPH. [continue reading…]

Time to Dust Off The Old Leica M3:
As I said in my 50 Summicron review, I got to playing with my Leica M3, and really started to miss shooting with it. The Leica M3 is the ultimate Leica. It was built to last, and my double stroke beauty has gone through three generations in my family so far. It was stored in my great uncle’s (the original owner) basement for decades, and when my dad found it, he sent it back to Leica NJ to see what they could do with it. Leica ended up doing a great job restoring the camera, and since then, it has never failed. [continue reading…]

A Few More Photographs With The 50 Summicron:
This is a very quick post. I took some photos for my 50 Summicron review, and these are the left overs. After I finished my 50 Summicron review, I got back to playing with the cron again. The 50 cron has been collecting dust since I bought my 50 Summilux ASPH but I think I’m kind of missing it a little after my review write up :). I also got to play with my film Leicas for a bit, and now I’m missing those as well, particularly my Leica M3, so maybe I will start shooting film again. I still have some Ektar, and would love to give that a go. But that’s another story, so on with the photos. [continue reading…]
