The Leica Handgrip M For The Leica M9:
When Leica first released the M9, people for the most part, were glad that Leica was able build a rangefinder camera with a full frame sensor while also keeping the same basic shape and design for the body as previous Leica M cameras. Plus we get to use all of our old M lenses :)! Compare an M9 and a film Leica together; Other than the M9 being a little more plump, both look pretty much the same, and feel pretty much the same. But notice that I said pretty much the same. [continue reading…]

Portraits with The Leica M9:
Hey everyone, I hope all of your Christmas shopping is going well. Christmas seems to fly by so fast this year. Anyway, I took some portraits of my friend recently with my Leica M9, and was originally going to save some for a review I was writing up on the 50 Summilux ASPH but I figured if I use them now, it would give me even more of an excuse to keep using my 50 Lux :). A Leica 35 Summicron For Portraits?:
The 35mm focal length is probably the most popular focal length for Leica M’s. There are several reasons for this: a 35mm is wide enough to fit everything in the frame but isn’t completely effected with the negative effects associated with wider angles. Because it is a wide angle, it’s also easier to learn how to pre focus. A 35mm can also focus closer to get that “up close and personal” feel. (By the way, I will be doing an extensive review of the 35 Summicron Version 4 at a later date. This post is just a sneak peak at what this lens can do). [continue reading…]
Introduction:
The answer to that question is…yes it can! 🙂 Why am I talking about winter? Well, it has been on my mind, and it is coming up. Why am I talking about the Leica M9? Because after two years I still love this camera :). You can get an M9 here at Amazon or here at Adorama. As the days are getting shorter, and the temps are falling, I find myself pondering on what kind of cool photos I can take especially during the Christmas season, which seems to be rapidly approaching (Thanksgiving is not even here, and I already see Christmas decorations going up). Introduction:
There are many companies out there these days that make fine leather goods specifically for Leica M’s: Luigi Crescenzi from Leicatime, Zhou, Rainbowimaging (this company is new to me but they look like they make awesome half cases. You should definitely check them out here at Amazon)…but for me, my favorite is Artisan & Artist. IMO, the leather that Artisan & Artist uses in their products is by far the best. [continue reading…]
