Snowstorm Nemo And Cold Weather Come to New York City

Snowstorm Nemo Fuji X-Pro1 snow foot prints

Snowstorm Nemo comes to New York City:

New York has finally received its first real snow storm of the year, Snowstorm Nemo.  It’s a great feeling waking up to a snowy white morning.  It reminds me of the days I use to go skiing when I was in college.  It even felt good doing a little shoveling believe it or not :).  I didn’t get to take as many photos today as I wanted to because I’ve been feeling a little under the weather.  I really wanted to go out to Manhattan, and see if there was anything out there to shoot.  But I did take a walk around my neighborhood here in Bayridge Brooklyn.  If you want to see a huge snowstorm we had a couple of years back where cars, and buses were abandoned in the middle of the street check out my Leica M9 post.  It was the biggest snowstorm I experienced here in New York City.

I still have the Olympus OM-D for a few more days, so I brought to take that with me but this time, I decided to use the 12-50mm kit zoom.  I also brought my X-Pro1 with the kit zoom but I only took one photo with that, which is the one on top.  The kit zoom from the Olympus is actually surprisingly good, although I think I like the Fuji one a bit better.

Anyway, I hope those affected by Snowstorm Nemo are doing okay.  Thanks for stopping by!

↑ Most of the roads in my neighborhood looked like this after Snowstorm Nemo.  The good news is that during the day, the weather was warming up, so some of the snow has been melting.  The bad news is, it’s going to get colder tonight, which might cause some of that melting to turn into ice.

↑ I just thought it was so cool how there really aren’t any foot prints in the middle of such a big field.

↑ I liked how the sky looked, and I thought that it would make a great black and white photo.
