Leica SL Firmware 3.0 Update Released!:

Wow, this new firmware update sounds awesome for the Leica SL!  There’s so much packed into it.  I love my SL.  It’s my favorite Leica so far but something like this just makes me love it even more :).  I heard about the firmware update yesterday but I haven’t had a chance to update my SL yet…I’m going to try tonight.  It looks like there are tons of improvements.  I can’t wait to try it!  Below is just a taste of what’s included in this firmware update.  There’s like a page, and a half worth of improvements if you check out the instructions to firmware 3.0.

• Up to 35% faster writing DNG files to SD card, which is awesome.
• Autofocus has been optimized.
• New firmware for lenses is also included.
• Ability to store DNG, and JPG on separated SD cards

Reviews Coming Next:

Hey everyone!  I hope all of you enjoyed the weekend.  Today was actually in the 80s temp wise here in NYC.  It almost feels to me like we skipped Spring, and jumped straight into early Summer or something :).  The pic in this post was taken with the Fuji X-T20, and my XF 18-55mm lens.  It was taken in Dumbo, Brooklyn early in the morning.  As you can see, the days have been quite nice here.

This is just a quick note to let all of you know what’s coming next.  I’m almost finished writing up my X-T20 review, so it should be up this week.  I’m almost done with reviewing the X100F along with the two tele-conversion lenses as well.  I’m not sure if I will be writing up a separate review for each or maybe making the X100F review two parts…I’ll think about it some more.

Besides Fuji gear, there’s other stuff I have in the works like the Hadley One that Billingham was kind enough to send me to review.  I know I’ve been talking about reviewing the Leica SL gear…I apologize for the wait but I still have plans to write up those reviews.  I’m also seeing if I can get in a new M lens to review.  It’s been a busy few weeks for me but things should be clearing up soon :).  Anyway, thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned!

Fuji X-T2 Firmware 2.00 And X-Pro2 Firmware 3.00 Update:

Wow, these are some major updates to already awesome cameras!  I have not had a chance to download firmware version 2.00 yet for my X-T2.  I’m still busy with the X-T20 and X100F reviews.  I’ll post something from the X100F probably this weekend, and expect the X-T20 review to come out afterwards. Still, I am definitely excited about the new firmware update for my X-T2.  From the list of new features, and updates that I’m reading off the X-T2 firmware page, it almost looks like a new camera :)!  The links are below:
