The Fuji X-E1:

I finally received my Fuji X-E1 kit today!  I had to wait a bit longer because I really wanted the silver one, and my dealer only had the black kit.  Yes, I could’ve had my X-E1 a week earlier but hey, I’m a firm believer that a person should always be completely happy with their purchase.  I don’t want to be opening my bag up everyday, and saying to myself, “I wish I bought the silver one” lol.  So, am I happy with it? Fuji X-E1 Kit in Stock!:

Hey if anyone is interested, the Fuji X-E1 kit in silver is in stock at Amazon right now!  I want one so badly but I already pre-ordered mine from my dealer so I’m guessing that I should be getting a call very soon.  The silver X-E1 is the one that I want to.  Yes, it’s not as discreet but in my opinion, it looks beautiful.  Here’s the link:

Fuji X-E1 Kit in silver at Amazon

As of now, there are 11 left.  It sure beats buying the Fuji X-E1 kit for more at Ebay.  If anyone gets it, feel free to let us know how it is in the comments section.  I can’t wait to try one out. I will probably end up selling my X100 for one.  It makes more sense to me since I like the 50mm focal length more than the 35mm.  Plus, I can use the X Series lenses on my X-E1 as well.

Fuji X-E1 Body in Black Finally in Stock in The US!:

For all U.S. visitors to this site, Bergen County Camera has two Fuji X-E1 bodies in black.  They received them yesterday.  If you want one, you can call (201)-664-4113, and ask for Bob.  I don’t get paid for posting this up at all.  Bob is just a very good dealer, who I’ve been buying from for countless years.  He is my only Leica dealer, and is one of those dealers who will stand by you if you have trouble with your equipment.  He is also kind enough to lend me stuff from time to time to review here on this site.

He called me to ask if I want one of the X-E1’s but I’m waiting for a silver one/kit lens combo.  But don’t think I wasn’t tempted! 😉  I’ve been reading stuff online about the new Fuji X-E1, and I can’t wait to get my hands on one!  I am also really looking forward to the kit lens, and hopefully it’s good enough where I won’t need to carry around the XF 18mm or XF 60mm anymore.  I hope one of you gets the new X-E1 if you want it!  Feel free to comment below, and tell me how it is!  Take care, and thanks for stopping by!

Hurricane Sandy Finally Arrives to Brooklyn

Hurricane Sandy Finally Arrives to Brooklyn:

I didn’t truly appreciate the might of Hurricane Sandy until what I just saw about 45 minutes ago.    Like most New Yorkers today, I’m home.   Everything is closed…trains, buses, schools…I was on my computer catching up on a little post processing, and decided to take a quick walk.  Then, I heard a loud crack.  A big tree had fallen into the intersection near me!  It just missed an on coming car too!  Luckily the guy stopped just in time.  As you can all see from the photo, the roots have been ripped out of the ground!

I pulled out my Fuji X100, and cranked it up to 6400 ISO  to get a couple of snaps because quite frankly, I’m a little amazed at how the wind can ripped the roots of a pretty big tree right out of the ground here in Brooklyn!  I’m also pretty amazed at the high ISO capability of the Fuji X100 ;).  We’ve had big storms that have broken branches but to have the roots ripped out??!!!  Wow, I must admit, having Hurricane Sandy here in New York is pretty scary.  I’ve personally never experienced weather like this before.

Now I’m starting to hear about a lot of power outtages, and how Con Edison is going to shut some of the power down in certain parts of the city.  I just got an automated message from Con Edison telling me that my power might be shut off.  The light is flickering…No trains or schools tomorrow either.  I hope all of you on the East Coast are doing well, and are safe from Hurricane Sandy.  If you don’t have too, don’t leave your homes.  Take care everyone, and for those of you one the East Coast: Be safe!
