A Night Out Around Dumbo Brooklyn

A Night Out Around Dumbo Brooklyn:

Hey everyone.  I was out late at night a couple of weeks ago around Dumbo to see if I could get a few more shots with the Sigma 28mm f1.4 DG HSM Art lens that I was reviewing at the time (full reviewing coming soon).  It seemed like the perfect night to shoot.  The weather was nice, and I had my friend with me, so at least I had some company.  However, it wasn’t really as productive as I thought it would turn out. Bronx Zoo: Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 OS Sports Lens:

Hey everyone.  So, as some of you know, I was lucky enough to get a chance to test the Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 Sports for L mount, so I could write a review for it to be posted on its release date.  As I said in my full review (can be found here), I know the L mount system consists of Panasonic, and Sigma in addition to Leica but speaking as a Leica SL2 shooter, it’s just great to have a lens of this focal length range for a Leica camera :).  Back in my M days, you would never see a lens like this for obvious reasons.  But now that there’s the SL system, there’s no reason why us SL shooters shouldn’t be able to use a lens like this one. Visit to the New York Botanical Garden

Hey everyone.  Right before things were really opening up here in New York City, I was still looking for a few places that I could visit easily that was also outside.  At the time, I had the Panasonic S1, and the Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 35mm f2 Aspherical to review.  I wanted to go somewhere a bit different than my usual haunts, so I decided to drive to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx.  I’ve always loved visiting here, and it was outdoors, so I could get some much needed sun and relaxation. Leica M6 TTL Millennium Photos From Flushing Queens:

Hey everyone.  I actually started getting back into some film the last month or so.  It started with my dad buying himself a Leica MP.  Truthfully, I thought he was a bit crazy at first haha.  Nothing against film but he hasn’t been in the Leica game in years, and I just thought the first one he was going to buy after like 20 years or so would’ve been a digital one :).  But he says he misses going to the 1 hour photo lab, and just getting prints as opposed to looking at all his images on a computer.  He has a point: I’ve shot thousands of images, and while I can print them all, how many do I really print these days?  Well, after going with him to buy the MP, he kind of slowly got me hooked again. In fact, I even ended up buying a film scanner haha, and I have some scans from a recent trip I made to Flushing, Queens. [continue reading…]

Fuji XF 18-55mm f2.8-4 and X-T3: Afternoon Cityscape Shots of NYC:

With the corona virus cases on the rise, I spent some downtime during the holiday season looking through some of my older images on my back up drives, and thought I’d post a few cityscape shots that were my favorites.  I don’t think I’ve posted these before, and except for one, these were all taken with the Fuji XF 18-55mm f2.8-4 R LM OIS lens.  I’ve owned this lens since I bought my X-E1 with it as a kit combo.  It’s still one of my favorites in the Fuji collection.
