Rainy Day in NYC Taken With My Fuji X100

Hey everyone,

It’s like 4:30am, and I am having a little trouble sleeping so I thought I’d make quick post.  For those who don’t live on the East Coast, it was raining like crazy today.  I heard some parts of the East Coast also received a little snow.  I was completely soaked.  Anyway, I had a few bags with me, plus a big umbrella so I decided to take my Fuji X100 out with me to do some one handed shooting.  I actually didn’t get many shots because I was running around so much plus my big as hell umbrella kept blowing me around so I couldn’t hold still.  But again, this is just a quick post.  I still am planning on writing a review for the X100, and I know it’s way late :).  I sometimes procrastinate but who doesn’t :)?  It’s a great little camera, especially once they started getting the new firmwares out to fix some of the bugs.

All these shots were converted exactly the same through Silver Efex Pro 2 to be somewhat consistent (kind of like shooting with the same film).  I don’t know, I thought it’d be kind of cool to try that out.  A lot of grain was added so keep that in mind.  It is not the X100.  As many of you know, the Fuji X100 images are extremely clean even at its higher ISO speeds.  I added grain because I thought it would go good with all the mist and rain.  Anyway, I’m going back to sleep.  I hope you all enjoy.

↑ I was up on the High Line again, which is where I shot this photo

↑ Here’s a view of 23rd St.  It definitely sucks to drive in New York City.

↑ I never seen the High Line so deserted before but it’s kind of nice.

Thanks! I’m glad you like them!

  • Nice effect, although I would take out that vignette from some of the photos such as the first two.

      Hi Auditus

Thanks and I appreciate you leaving a comment! Yeah, at the time I had just installed a new program, and I was just having a little fun with it and experimenting :).

      Best regards,

      Patrick
