Weekly Portrait Set: Shots of Lilia With The Leica SL2

Weekly Portrait Set: Shots of Lilia With The Leica SL2:

This week’s portrait post is going to be a short one.  I was editing at my sister’s, and left my portable drive there by accident, so a lot of the files I wanted to post are not with me currently.  Also, with Christmas coming soon, I’ve had to cut down on my editing time but I did want to just post something, especially since I’ve been doing a lot of shoots with the Leica SL2.  So, today’s pics are of Lilia.

This was the first time I’ve shot with Lilia, and we did do quite a bit.  We walked around downtown Manhattan to get some street fashion shots.  We also did some stuff on a roof.  I’ll probably post those in the near future but these pictures here are of her at my studio space.

Gear of choice was the Leica SL2 as I mentioned earlier, and my go-to lens, the Summilux-SL 50mm f1.4 ASPH.  For those interested, the SL2 has been really incredible so far.  I’ve done several long shoots with it already, and I’m simply loving the performance.  The 47 MP comes in handy too.  While I’m not a huge fan of cropping, the first photo posted here was cropped down because I had too much empty space.  Overall, The SL2 is a dream camera to me.  I’m still getting used to it; for instance, I’m still messing around with the settings to get the camera just right for me but overall, I’m just enjoying myself.

So, that’s about it.  The last pic in this post does not go with the rest of the set but I did post it on my Instagram a few days ago, and I thought I’d just add it in here.  It was taken with the APO-Summicron-SL 90mm f2 ASPH.  Man, I forgot how ridiculously sharp the lens is; I may have to start using it more often again :).  Anyway, stay tuned for more content coming soon.  I have something from Sony, and also, I’ve been testing the new Nikon Z50 recently.  This is the first Nikon that I’ll be writing up a review for, so I’m definitely excited.  My first impressions of it will be up this week.  Thanks for stopping by, and happy holidays!
