A Night Out Around Dumbo Brooklyn:
Hey everyone. I was out late at night a couple of weeks ago around Dumbo to see if I could get a few more shots with the Sigma 28mm f1.4 DG HSM Art lens that I was reviewing at the time (full reviewing coming soon). It seemed like the perfect night to shoot. The weather was nice, and I had my friend with me, so at least I had some company. However, it wasn’t really as productive as I thought it would turn out. A Visit to Sagamore Hill National Historical Site:
Hey everyone! Apologies for the lack of posts lately. I’m terrible lol but I’ve just been really busy this summer, and also trying to make a little time to just enjoy the weather a bit. I have also been taking my camera with me everywhere, so I’ve been testing a bunch of different things. For instance, I have been using a lot of 28mm lenses recently, and one of them is by Sigma: the 28mm f1.4 DG HSM Art in L mount. I even took it with me on a short trip to Sagamore Hill, which was Theodore Roosevelt’s home from 1885 to 1919. It’s near Oyster Bay on the North Shore Long Island. [continue reading…]
Added a Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 to My System:
As some of you know, I am a big fan of L mount. I love what Leica has made in terms of lenses for it but besides that, I love being able to use lenses from big manufacturers like Sigma (I am a huge fan of Sigma lenses as some of you know) and Panasonic. Others are coming into the mix like a macro lens I recently reviewed from Laowa (review here). DJI is joining the L Mount Alliance as well, and lastly, I can still use my M mount lenses. They work perfectly too by the way. With all that said, I decided a few weeks ago to invest further into the system, and some of you may know I’ve always praised the Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 (review here). Well, I bought one, and now I use it as a companion to my Leica SL2. [continue reading…]
Laowa FFII 90mm f2.8 CA-Dreamer Macro 2X Review:
Macro was an area of photography that I would never really venture into much during my Leica M days, and one of the reasons is because it can be a bit of a pain to do with a rangefinder :). While macro photography still isn’t something I do often, it’s been really nice to be able to explore this type of photography more, thanks in part to my switch to L mount. There are actually a nice selection of macro lenses to choose from, and as of today, there’s another added to the list: the Laowa FFII 90mm f2.8 CA-Dreamer Macro 2X. Thanks to Laowa, I was able to test this lens out before its release date to see what it’s all about. Here’s my full review of it. [continue reading…]
Sigma 16-28mm f2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens Review:
Wide angle zooms are some of the most useful lenses one can buy. There is just so much you can do with them from taking candid shots around on the street to beautiful landscapes, so it definitely makes sense for camera manufacturers to produce a variety of them. With that said, Sigma has just released the 16-28mm f2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens today for L mount and E mount. On paper, this lens has all the goods necessary to make it a popular one, so I was definitely eager to give it a try. Thanks to Sigma, I was lucky enough to get a sample of the lens before its release date to test. Here’s my full review of it. [continue reading…]
