7artisans Photoelectric 50mm f0.95 Lens Review:
Lenses with ultra large maximum apertures always have fans, and with good reason: in addition to the light gathering capabilities of these lenses, they can also produce beautifully blurred out backgrounds for when you want to further isolate your subject. In the past, these lenses often came with very high price tags but nowadays, there are quite a few options that are more reasonably priced. Take, for instance, the 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm f0.95 lens, which comes in several different mounts. With a price of just $236, this lens is definitely something that is more attainable. I had the pleasure of testing one out, and here are my thoughts on it. [continue reading…]

7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f0.95 Lens Review:
If you’re in the market for a large aperture lens for taking photos in dimly lit areas or for ultra shallow depth of field work, there are plenty to choose from these days that are also reasonably priced for what you’re getting. For instance, 7artisans has some cool lenses, and if you’re with the Fujifilm X-Series system, you might want to take a look at the Photoelectric 35mm f0.95 lens. With such a large maximum aperture, this lens is quite flexible as to what it can shoot, and how it can render an image. I had the opportunity to give this lens a try with my Fuji X-T3, and here’s what I think of it. [continue reading…]

7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f0.95 First Impressions:
If you’re after beautiful bokeh, you probably want a fast lens, and the good news is, there are quite a lot to choose from these days, especially if you’re in the Fujifilm X Series system. Best of all, they aren’t all as insanely priced as they once used to be, which is always good. Take for instance, the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f0.95 Lens. Priced at just $249, it’s not only significantly cheaper than Fujifilm’s own 35mm f1.4, it’s even slightly lower in price than the f2 version as well. I was able to get the 35mm f0.95 in to review, and I’ve been shooting it just a bit. Here are my first impressions of it. [continue reading…]
