Ricoh GR IIIx Digital Camera Announced:

Ricoh has announced the new GR IIIx.  I’ve always wanted to get one of these GRs in to review but for some reason, every time a new version is released, I’m either busy or I forget.  This might be the time I finally get a review sample given how popular they are, and cool I think they are in general.  If you’re interested, you can pre-order it through the link below:

Venus Optics Laowa 4mm f2.8 Fisheye Lens Review:

If you’re looking for something that is a bit different, and will add some fun back to your photography, a fisheye lens is something that can be great to use.  There are quite a few out there these days for many different systems, and all in various price ranges.  One of them is the Venus Optics Laowa 4mm f2.8 Fisheye, which is one of the widest focal lengths currently on the market.  It comes in several different mounts ranging from Leica L to Fuji X mount.  I was able to get my hands on an X mount version, and here’s my review of it. Venus Optics Laowa 4mm f2.8 Fisheye Lens First Look:

Hey everyone.  I will be quite busy this week doing a little construction in my home but I wanted to at least show you what I’ve been up to lately in terms of photography.  I have a few new ultra wide angle lenses for both L mount and X Series that I am currently reviewing.  One of them is the Venus Optics Laowa 4mm f2.8 Fisheye, which I’m going to talk about today.  I’ve used fisheyes before but nothing this wide before.  Here are my first impressions of it. Sigma 24mm f2 DG DN Contemporary Lens Review:

When Sigma created the I Series, its goal was to give photographers a bunch of exceptional lenses without the bulk or weight.  Over just a short period of time, they have steadily created more, and more with these characteristics giving photographers a range of optics that extend from mid-tele to wide angle so far.  Speaking of wide angle, there is a 24mm f3.5 that I reviewed a while back that is an absolutely lovely lens but for those who need a larger maximum aperture, there is the new 24mm f2 DG DN Contemporary lens.  This lens (along with the new 90mm DG DN, which I reviewed here) has just been released today, and thanks to Sigma, I was able to test it out before hand to get a feel of it, and to see its capabilities.  Here’s my full review.
