Fujifilm XF 50mm f1 R WR Lens First Impressions

Fujifilm XF 50mm f1 R WR Lens First Impressions:

If you love photos where the depth of field is ultra shallow, you might want to take a look at something Fujifilm has released: the XF 50mm f1 R WR lens.  In addition to a blurred out background, the large maximum aperture is great for low light photography as well.  I received one recently on loan to review, and I’ve been giving it a try here, and there when the temperature isn’t as hot in New York City.  Here are my first impressions of it. Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN Art Lens Review L Mount

Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN Art Lens Review L Mount:

The 24-70mm is one of those must-have lenses for a lot of photographers, and it makes sense, since it covers such a broad range.  With just one lens, and especially one with a relatively large fixed maximum aperture, a photographer can cover landscape, street, and even portraiture in many different kind of conditions.  So, many manufacturers make zooms in this range, and often times, they are top sellers.  One that I was recently able to test was the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN Art lens.  This comes in Sony E mount or Leica L mount, and being that I’m a Leica guy, I used the L mount version.  Here’s what I think of it. A Look Back at The Leica Summaron-M 28mm f5.6

A Look Back at The Leica Summaron-M 28mm f5.6:

Hey everyone, I reviewed the Summaron-M 28mm f5.6 a while back, and for those who have read it, you know that I am a huge fan of the lens.  In fact, right after I sent back my loaner, I immediately went to purchase one.  However, it wasn’t in stock at the time, and while waiting for it, I decided to cancel last minute because as some of you know, I’m just not a 28mm kind of guy.  I would use the lens because it has such a cool rendering to it but for my work, I thought my money would be better spent elsewhere at the time.  I still have plans of one day buying one because I truly think it is a special lens but that’s later on :).  Anyway, I do have a bunch of reviews coming up but I was looking through my archives, and just felt like writing up a little post about the Summaron-M 28mm. I know I haven’t looked at much Fujifilm gear in a while, so I decided to get back into it with several lenses.  One lens that I’ve been keeping an eye on lately is the new XF 18mm f1.4 R LM WR lens.  With a focal length that equates to a 27mm, it’s great for many situations including but not limited to street photography, cityscape, landscape, and environmental portraiture.  Let’s take a closer look at it by first going over the build.
