Leica M6 TTL Millennium Photos From Flushing Queens

Leica M6 TTL Millennium Photos From Flushing Queens:

Hey everyone.  I actually started getting back into some film the last month or so.  It started with my dad buying himself a Leica MP.  Truthfully, I thought he was a bit crazy at first haha.  Nothing against film but he hasn’t been in the Leica game in years, and I just thought the first one he was going to buy after like 20 years or so would’ve been a digital one :).  But he says he misses going to the 1 hour photo lab, and just getting prints as opposed to looking at all his images on a computer.  He has a point: I’ve shot thousands of images, and while I can print them all, how many do I really print these days?  Well, after going with him to buy the MP, he kind of slowly got me hooked again. In fact, I even ended up buying a film scanner haha, and I have some scans from a recent trip I made to Flushing, Queens. [continue reading…]

Billingham 307 vs. Billingham 335 Comparison

Both the Billingham 307 and the Billingham 335 are larger bags designed to carry a decent amount of gear.  In some ways, they are similar but there are some key differences that I didn’t even realize before I got my hands on both.  So, I thought I’d write up a comparison between the two bags.  I did write reviews for both, (if you want to read them, here’s the 307 review and the 335 review), so I’ll be concentrating mainly on comparing these two in this post rather than going into full detail about each bag.  You are more than welcomed to read my reviews, if you want more detail.  Ok, let’s get started. Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 Mirrorless Camera Review

Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 Camera Review:

If you’re looking to get into L mount, and you’re looking at Panasonic, I’m sure a lot of you know that there’s the S1 and S1R bodies.  Both of those bodies are aimed at the higher end of the market, and with that comes higher price tags.  If you’re not looking to spend that kind of money and at the same time, you want something more compact than those two options, the Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 might just be the camera that will fit your needs.  I spent some time with it, and here’s what I think of it. Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 35mm f2 ASPH First Look

Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 35mm f2 ASPH First Look:

The 35mm is one of the most popular focal lengths with good reason.  The lens is usually pretty compact, and easy to use.  The focal length is also versatile because it’s great for a variety of subjects from environmental portraiture to street photography.  If you’re a Leica M user or you use the M mount on your camera, there are plenty of great 35mm lenses out, and recently, there has been another added to the list: the Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 35mm f2 Aspherical.  I’ve received one to review, and while I’m not a 35mm kind of guy, I have to admit, I’ve been pretty excited to get my hands on this one, and see how this lens shoots.  Here’s my first impressions of it. Sigma 35mm f2 DG DN Contemporary Lens Review

Sigma 35mm f2 DG DN Contemporary Lens Review:

The Sigma I Series is still relatively new but with the focal lengths that are out so far, they cover a decent amount of ground.  These are also compact lenses for photographers who just don’t need those large maximum apertures, and instead, just want something that’s more compact, and still optically excellent, fast, and easy to operate.  The focal lengths in this series so far are a 24mm, a 45mm, and a 65mm.  I’ve reviewed all of those, which you can find here.  Another lens in this series is the Sigma 35mm f2 DG DN Contemporary lens, which is what I’m reviewing here.
