Wow, so I wake up today, and much to my surprise, I actually see snow…in October. Keep in mind that this is New York City, not some place like Maine. It was definitely cold today…it was so windy, if it weren’t for my girlfriend holding onto the umbrella for dear life, I probably wouldn’t have been able to take any pictures because the combination of the wind, sleet, snow, and rain was just crazy. If today was any indication on what kind of winter we’re going to have in New York City this year…well let’s just say that it will suck :).
Anyway, a day like this was just calling for me to take out my Leica M9 (which I reviewed here) and 50 Summilux ASPH. I was too lazy to bring more than one lens, and like I said before in past posts, I love the 50 Summilux ASPH. I would’ve taken more photos but seriously, it was so freaking windy…My lens was constantly getting wet…it was brutal out there today. The first set of photos bellow were shot in a park near where I live in Bayridge, Brooklyn.
↑ Yeah…that sleet was not fun to walk on :).
↑ It was so unexpectedly cold and windy today as the leaves on the ground prove.
After freezing our butts off we decided to go in early for some hot chocolate and cookies. Then off to dinner in Chinatown with some family. The following photos were shot at Sing Kee, a new seafood restaurant that we wanted to try out. You’ll probably see a lot of food on this blog in the future since I love food so much :). Once again, I used my Leica M9 with 50 Summicron ASPH.
↑ If any of you live in New York City, Sing Kee is located on Bowery.
↑ Here’s some flounder with some weird cheese topping.
↑ Nothing like some warm tea on such a cold day.
↑ Here’s some deep fried tofu for you tofu lovers.
↑ This is not my cup of tea but here’s some spinach.
↑ This is one of my favorite dishes: deep fried shrimp with mayo.
↑ There was a little camera movement in this photo but here’s my sister giving me the stink eye ;).
↑ It was not a great day to take the train home. IMO, photos of New York City at night look best in black and white.
