Photo of The Day: Quick Shot With My Fuji X100

Quick Shot With My Fuji X100:

Hey everyone, I was walking back to my car after going out to dinner with my girlfriend, and saw this beautiful bright yellow Lotus Elise parked on the street.  My first thought was, “wow, I can’t believe this guy is brave enough to park this car on the street” lol.  My second thought was, “let me get a shot of this car”.  So here’s a shot with the Fuji X100 taken at 1250 ISO at F2.0.  Yes, 1250 ISO and I must say, the image quality is awesome.  I really like the Fuji X100 but for some reason it just wasn’t a camera that I bonded with well but things are definitely changing, especially after the new firmware update.  The Fuji X100 is like a new camera!

This is a great camera, and I’m actually using the X100 a lot more now because I want to write a review for it.  I know the X100 came out a year ago but there are probably many who will want to compare this camera to the new Leica X2.  There is no denying that the X2 produces excellent image quality but the X100 also produces great image quality for almost half the price.  Plus with the money you save, you can even purchase the new wide angle adapter for the X100 (the WCL-X100).  So essentially, you will have a 28mm and a 35mm equivalent for less than it would cost you to purchase an X2.  Furthermore, if you want an EVF for your Leica X2, you will still have to purchase that while the Fuji X100 has both an OVF and EVF built in.

This is not a “hate the X2” post.  I love Leica products.  In fact, in many ways, I prefer the image quality from the Leica X1 over the X100.  It’s just in terms of image quality, build, and price, the Fuji X100 is definitely an option to think of when considering the purchase of an X2.

Well, thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for some new stuff coming shortly!  Take care everyone!
