The Leica M Typ 240 And 35 Summicron ASPH Photos:

I have a few more photos taken with my Leica M 240 that I thought I would post.  The photos are of my friend, Haru, who was extremely patient with me snapping away.  I took them in an old apartment, and I cross processed them because I thought it would be fun and a bit different.  I also like the old school look.  These photos were shot with the 35 Summicron ASPH.  If you want to see some photos that I took of Haru with the 75 Summilux, you can check them out as well. Some Leica M 240 Shots With My 75 Summilux And EVF2:

Hey everyone, I hope all of you had a great weekend.  I’ve lived here in New York for all of my life, and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen so much rain before.  We finally had a little sun over the weekend (although, it’s been raining all day today), so I thought it was the perfect time to shoot more with my 75 Summilux and EVF2, especially since I was meeting up with an old friend.  I absolutely love what this lens can do with the digital M’s but it was never calibrated with my M9.  It’s a different story with my Leica M 240. Monochrom Lust, Leica M 240 Black and White Conversions:

Here are a couple of photos that I had lying around in my hard drive that I never got to.  I converted them to black and white because I’ve recently had this urge to convert everything into black and white, and I can’t seem to get out of my system.  I think it’s because when I picked up my Leica M 240 a couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to try out the Monochrom for the first time at Bergen County Camera.  I’m probably going to sound like everyone else who’ve had the opportunity to shoot with the Monochrom but the files are absolutely amazing.  I’ve never seen anything like it before, and it’s hard to believe that it’s basically an M9 sensor.  Not that the M9 isn’t a great camera…it’s just that the files produced by the Monochrom are so utterly unique.  I promise you that you’ve never seen anything like this before, and don’t judge Monochrom files from the web because web images simply do not do it justice. The My New Leica M 240 Finally Arrived! Very VERY First Impressions:

Hey everyone!  Great news!  I just came back from Bergen County Camera, and check out what I brought home with me?  It’s the new Leica M or Type 240 as some refer to it.  I am so excited to finally get my copy!  I’ve been driving in traffic all day (Bergen County Camera is in NJ, and I live in NY), and I haven’t even eaten anything yet lol.  First impressions?  It’s a bit bigger than the M9 but also a little heavier, which is nice.  The leather wrapping around the camera is much gripper, and it feels much nicer than the M9-P.  The new screen looks good, and the silver color is awesome…what else is there to say other than…it’s great to have a digital M back in my hands!  It really is…

↑ Here’s a quick snap of the back view of the new Leica M.  Leica finally updated the screen.

I’m currently charging the battery (btw the battery is bigger, which is another plus), and I’m hoping to get out there tonight to do a little shooting.  I haven’t manual focused a lens since I sold my M9 back in October…wonder if I still can do it lol. I really can’t wait to take some photos with my new Leica M.  If I get anything tonight, I’ll post some stuff up, and give you all a better first impression.

So anyway, more maybe later tonight, and definitely tomorrow!  Right now, I’m going to get some food in me…although I must admit that I’m a bit too excited to eat :).  I will definitely be doing a review of the Leica M soon…a mutli-page/multi-post review over my time with the camera.  I think a camera like this deserves a bit more attention :).  Thanks for stopping by!  More later!

OLYMPUS OM-D Chinese New Year

Photo of The Day: Happy Chinese New Year!:

I went out today to shoot more with the Olympus OM-D before I have to return it, and decided to check out Chinatown, since today is Chinese New Year. I saw some of the lion dances going on, and took quite a few photos, most of which I’m saving for my X-E1 vs. OM-D post later.  This was only the beginning; next weekend, the lion dances are going to occur all day…I think it’s going to be Saturday if I’m correct.

This photo was taken with the OM-D, and the Panasonic 25 Summilux F1.4 ASPH.  What an awesome lens…I actually ran into this “lion” by accident, and when I saw him, i just started snapping away.  I was extremely close to him so a lot of the photos had the lion cut off a lot.  I checked out what I got, and I found this photo with the guy inside staring straight at me completely tack sharp.  I was quite honestly amazed because there was so much movement!  This is where the autofocus on the OM-D really comes into play.  It was so fast, and precise.  Plus, the image stabilization probably had a hand in this shot as well.

Anyway, I might be going to next week’s Chinese New Year celebration but I’m not sure yet.  If I do, I’ll probably be shooting with the X-E1.  The Oly was fun to use but I miss my Fuji.  Take care everyone!
